Billy all day. He was a great boxer and at Lightheavy could have reigned for years.

    Conn by close decision.

I think Conn is one of the few boxers at 175 who had the skills to avoid Bob's hammers for 15 rounds.

However, Fosters 6'3 height makes it a hard prospect. It won't be easy and Billy would need to defend with absolute perfection to avoid the big left hook.

Conn by close hard fought decision. Foster's jab will keep it close. If Billy keeps moving, he will avoid giving Foster the chance to sit down on his big right and especially left hook.

Conn by decision. His movement would enable him to avoid a lot of Foster's killer blows.

    Good fight.

Conn on points but it'd be a tight rope fight.

I think walking a tight rope is the best term for Conn in this fight, and I don't think he'd accomplish it. As soon as Bob lands a big shot, and he will sooner or later, Conn would let his Irish temper go and engage Bob which ends badly. Along with his laser jab I like Foster to take a close UD. I rate Foster very high at light heavy and unless your name is Spinks or Charles I 'd bet on him against most at 175

I'm surprised at how highly thought of Conn is on this forum!

Just last week, I was told he would beat Usyk and humble other of today's top HWs - and now he beats Foster?

For sure, Conn was a very good fighter... but it seems to me, that he may be given some oldtimer bonus points here!

    Agree,
Conn has the ability to fight smart and win a decision.
But his temperament wouldn't allow him to.
He'd eventually push his luck against the always
dangerous , stalking, Foster engage in a firefight
    get ko'ed for the effort.
Foster's length, reach, powerful jab and ability to make the ring small
by beating his opponent to the spot would eventually infuriate
Conn, make him try to earn respect.
Foster get's over looked by some on this site.
He wasn't a very good heavyweight, but at light
heavyweight, he's shouldn't be lower than top
    4 all times.

Ooooooooh this is a good match up.
Another 2 of my heroes, one is probably the biggest banger in the Light Heavyweight division and the other one was a beautiful box-fighter with a solid chin.
Both of them are in my LH elite top 5 or 6.
But one of them handled the smaller Heavyweights better, and its him that wins a decision

Conn gets coldcocked by Foster in the 14th in a great fight.
