A fight which always intrigued me. How would it likely unfold?

No word of a lie ,I was thinking of this match up the last few day's .It's a intriguing fight I believe. I think they match up well .I'm leaning towards Conn pulling off a upset and out boxing Floyd ,maybe even dropping him once or twice. Not putting the house on it though.
And of course got to factor in Floyds quick combos ,he could nail Conn coming in ,hurt him as Louis did and drop him.

Floyd. Conn being outsped by a larger fighter is terminal for him I reckon.

I'd expect Floyd to overwhelm him.

Conn had great foot speed, but Floyd had terrific hand speed. I lean towards Floyd.

Didn't Louis say Conn hurt him a few times in their fight?

Floyd would be a awful style for Conn, bigger a lot more power yet quicker. This could look like the Moore fight.

If Ingemar Johansson could keep Patterson away with a jab for a few rounds until he cleaned his clock, so could Conn. Conn would never get as careless as Johansson either, he wasnt careless in the Louis fight he was reckless. Ali proved that simply circling away negated a lot of Patterson's offence. I'm not going to say Conn had a better jab than Ali but he was a lot more active with his circling. Ali was very slow in the second fight. Many fighters broke holes through Patterson's defense, Conn would light him up when given the opportunities. UD 15 for a cautious Conn.

I think Floyd's speed wins him the day with a UD. Floyd is an excellent boxer hinself, and, Conn is not the type of fighter to hurt Floyd enough to take him out of his game.

The usual passive Floyd? Wide UD
    The aggressive Floyd? Stoppage.

    On a side note,
This is why I think that Michael Spinks would have done well as a heavyweight in those days. Conn never lost to a heavyweight except Joe Louis. At 6'2 208 lbs.... I think that Spinks would have had a similar heavyweight record in those days, likely losing by KO to Joe Louis
