I think the fact that Conn was the naturally bigger man, coupled with the fact that he was the better boxer would be bad news for Lamotta. Conn's abillity as a lightweight is underrated in my opinion. I think this fight could be similar to the St. Valentines Day beatdown administered by Robinson.

    I'd favor Conn.

Far too capable of coming up with great gameplans. His chin, stamina and schooling wouldn't let him down.

Too level headed to fight the wrong fight.

i dont think conn was the bigger man as lamotta started as a light heavy and struggled to make middle. he also beat some of the top light heavies of his time. i dont see conn whipping him like the valentines massacare but i do think it would be an interesting fight as id like to see if lamotta could catch him in the later rounds.any other thoughts on this matchup?

My only thoughts are that it would be a classic

Conn would have outslicked LaMotta...really now, dosent everyone know that Conn wasn't some patsy that would be bullied by Jake, can't it be remembered how Billy performed against Louis? On that form, using the form Conn displayed against Joe Louis, how can ANY lightheavyweight, or middleweight, for that matter, no offense to LaMotta, ever be favored to beat Conn?
