I was talking era-era in general and satirising his inability to see the truth due to a certain blindness i was alleging on his part. You definitely shouldn't worry about it too much.
lora is a little extreme in that regard, even I admit it, but I don't believe the modern era is all that myself so I sympathise with his point of view...a bit.
I don't have any particular bias against 90s or 00s fighters.Especially not 90s, though i'll freely admit i consider the last ten years to be among one of the weakest periods in boxing. I do probably like to troll on recent fighters i think have gotten overestimated on ESB over the years a bit too much which can be seen as a bias if you don't get my kind of humour, but that's what keeps me going, especially when it pisses off guys like teeto(good poster he was at times too).I've said plenty of times i think MAB, MOrales, Mosley and others i like to lay into are\were all excellent or great fighters at some stage in their career. I'll never concede that ancient Hopkins is a good fighter though. He's ****ing rotten.
And i used to be high on Pacquiao and a big fan of his awkwardly effective, intuitive style, until he got to 140 and 147 and the madness began. Becoming a great weight jumper does not suddenly mean you can annihilate everyone at every weight you fought at south of Duran.epsecially when you never showed that kind of talent when actually doing the fighting in those weights.:yep
Well once upon a time he was an excellent\great one. then a seemingly weight-weakened rather unimpressive one for a couple of years. then a good but not special anymore one again at light heavy for a couple of years. Then overrated shite living off having exceptional longevity and previous excellence.
He was overrated(and still is as a "H2H beast") at the weight compared some of his contemporaries, but i did think he was certainly a really good\excellent fighter until Forrest took his soul.
He was a beast against Oscar first time that's for sure. Philip Holiday les so. He doesn't match up brilliantly with most of the very good welters that are floating through my mind at this moment of time. There's loads in here, and Shane is looking poor against them.
