Conn jabbed, Bettina jabbed, Bettina hooked, he got inside, they clinched, wrestled around, broke, and so on. Conn only seemed a decent boxer and no better, but there's too little here to say anything certain. Each round appeared close, although with Conn taking nearly everything. The final round was really something though. Terrific stuff as the two just slugged it like two warriors. No verdict, or ig we could call this an NC.
Not much to see here, as Bettina was a southpaw spoiler. A type who makes his opponents look bad. We don't see most of the fight, but all the judge had Conn winning easily. I remember seeing a Louis quote that the one guy Blackburn didn't want him to fight was Bettina, not because he thought Louis would lose, but because Blackburn felt that there was no way of looking good against Bettina. I don't know. I think Louis might have blown him away with right hands.
