Conn gets my vote as the best supermiddleweight-range fighter that ever lived. IMO he would get Roy's respect and then outbox him.
i could see that!! billy only weighed 169lb for the first joe louis fight didn't he?watched him on a video about joe about 20 odd years ago . class! both billy and joe
Not much love for Billy Conn against Roy Jones here. Jones was one of the fastest fighters in the history of the sport, but I wouldn't be so sure he'd beat Conn with the relative ease that some have mentioned in this thread. Conn was a very good combination fighter that could come forward, counter and move on his feet, setting up punches off his jab. Speed for speed, Jones is the logical choice but Conn has more than enough skills to surprise Jones and out-box him over 12 rounds. Conn had one of the greatest heavyweights of all time reeling, and almost pulled out one of the greatest upsets in the history of the sport. Jones never faced the likes of a heavyweight like Joe Louis.
I like Billy who is very underrated....its the intangables, heart and skill vs Skill and counterpunching and speed ....both had power......Billy was a strong lightheavy
i wnat to pick Conn and rate him higher than RJJ but H2H i think Roy takes it but its close 1 or 2 points really. but in a 15 rounder i think Conn wins by the same margin
