It's a bit arrogant and pre-emptive on his part. He should really wait for the results of the hearing first though, before talking as if he's already in a position to 'offer' a rematch to Yamaguchi like he's doing Yamaguchi a favour. That's what's questionable about his actions at this point.

whats the point in a rematch. This guy is clearly not in the same league as Billy dib, it's a bit of a mismatch judging by his performance in the first fight.

    :deal

Not a single mention of the disgraceful foul shot.

This is an exercise in PR, not an acknowledgement of the truth.

Dib is a clown, he bites a fighter, he starts a semi riot in the first free to air boxing card in 25years, I'm a hardcore boxing fan and I'm angry about it, I told anybody with a pair of ears about this fight card and to watch to help this sport I love and he does this.

Channel 10 will most likely probobly walk away now from the sport. I blame dib and his idiot mates, You think this kid is going to next aussie boxing star, you guys are flat out kidding yourself, He lacks classic in and outside the ring. I WILL NEVER give this kid one gram of support as long as my asehole points to the ground. I can't wait for him to get his ase knocked out.

I think just about everyone other than Dibb's own family wants to see him ktfo.

It's a step in the right direction, but it will take much more than offering a rematch to earn some respect. The lack of humility in the offer and avoiding the most contentious aspect; the punch while Yamaguchi was still down, has not been addressed fully by this lame attempt at scrounging back some support.
Dib has a chance to show some class, if he is capable of it, but even if he wins clean and decisively it will only be 20% of what the public needs to see from him before he has redeemed himself.

that is the biggest load of bull**** ever.
"never any slight on boxing"- kets see that's incident #? ah, 4 we are up to now! great record in 24 bouts.
he instigated the whole thing with the push. the jap did push the ref but his trainer got him outta there, quick smart.
"those that trespassed"- they are your scum bags in the corner, you control them then buddy, put them on leashs if need be cause that's what they are - dogs?
he needs to be banned, along with billy hussein, along with that pathetic ref.

Yamaguchis trainer has accepted the rematch offer on another forum but I'll be surprised if anything of merit is in the offer from Dib.

Remember the rematch ordered by the IBO for Zolani Morali? Dib dropped the belt to avoid that one.

And as heart rending as his tears of victory were for this regional version, if hes prepared to drop a full world title it makes sense that an Asian-Pacific one would go even quicker.

Still, I guess the two seconds of offense he showed all night is a bit of an indicator of how the fight was going to go anyway.

LeonMcS, please post the link to Footit's quote so we can see it.

I missed the one where you claimed (in a different thread) this incident had made huge news in Japan. I rekon if what you have said is true, Billy will fight Yamaguchi.

I'm not able to post a link to another forum but I'm sure if you type the words australian boxing forum into google you should be on your way. Its in the 'Team Yamaguchi accets rematch offer' thread there.

As for making news in Japan, I never offered any links as I had none, just going on some news passed on to me. Heres a nugget for you though, of the 2500+ views both versions of my video have had in 48 hours(the one that showed the whole fight, not the other one that starts after Billy had been knocked down), just under half of those have been from Japan.
