Billy Fox - Jake La Motta fight

When you understand RAGING BULL was the Mary Poppins version of Jake's life, maybe it'll help you decide what he did against Fox.

 

Under the previous moniker "Dr Z", he used to portray himself as a bit of a boxing historian, thus lying about seeing rare fights, he probably thought people would feel he was more knowledgable atsch.

 

I was reading the Burley bio a few months ago and it mentioned a reporter from the 40's-50's in NY called Joe Rein, was he any relation?

Flattered to be mentioned in the same breath with Liebling 'n Heinz (who gave me the biggest break of my life, as 21-year-old : a one-year option -- without a dime in my pocket or a track record -- to make a motion picture of his novel, THE PROFESSIONAL, that every star in Hollywood was bidding on. Couldn't raise the money, and the day my option lapsed, Peter Falk picked it up...'n he couldn't get it done either. Lottsa big names been attached; but ,for reasons unknown (or it's snake bit), it's never made it to the screen.
