i was speaking online with fellow poster fleaman earlier and i was saying that, as far as i knew, billy fox from the famous jake lamotta fight, is still alive today...making him 94.

now...i said as far as i could tell...as a bit of searching online to any reports of his death is all i've done.

so....thought i'd throw it over to the house experts here :)

Id be surprised. He went insane decades ago. More likely hes buried in a paupers grave on the grounds of a sanitarium.

    Thanks for posting!

Fox says that Lamotta lied to save face. I just find that very far fetched. Lamotta has no reason to risk going in front of the senate committee and lie under oath. Not to mention the backlash he received from the mob. They tried to kill him over it!

I alwaus wondered about that 1981 article. That magazine was notorious for reprinting earlier articles and that article is almost word for word identical to an article written about Fox in 1960 that was taken from an interview done in 1954.

The photo of Billy Fox looks like it could be 1981.

Yeah. Its interesting but its hard to imagine a guy who went through periods of homelessness, insanity, etc living into his 90s. Im still guessing the guy died years ago as a John Doe or in an institution. There was another interview with him I recall in the 60s or 70s where he could barely remember the details of his career so I dont know what to think but I doubt hes alive.
