The few times I find info on Graham It constantly says what a master boxer he was.
Im not doubting this at all. I know he got screwed against Gavilen with a judge that had to go against him. I also read that the book The Professional by Heinz was loosley based on him.
Other than that not much else. I dont know if he is alive or dead.
Can anyone educate me on this man?

About like you said Bob.Master boxer along the lines of Tunney,Loughran, his style being almost a combination of the two.Not much of a puncher from what I understand.

A pleasure to see Billy's name on the board, ru. Brings back great memories. Used to watch him spar at Stillman's Gym...in ring #1, reserved for only Lou Stillman's favorites.

A beautiful stand-up boxer, radar for defense, with an educated jab, savvy ring general and a helluva beard.

A gentleman to his toes -- strictly old school.

A little tough to read those words, m. I liked Billy -- such a decent guy and solid pro -- respected by everyone in the gym -- but in retrospect, I'd have to agree.

No, G, an Eastside New Yorker -- one of the classiest boxers of the 1940s and early '50s.

The guy had a real great slip, block and counter technique whether moving forward or going backward. Whenever you threw something at him, you were going to pay.

Billy Graham was in the mold of Tommy Loughran, as has been said, with very little power, and was robbed againt Kid Gavilan the first time. Graham defense and chin were excellent, in that he was NEVER KNOCKED OFF HIS FEET. With all the fights he had in the era he fought in with all those tough fighters around, I think that was pretty amazing.
