Not much mentioned about him. Besides lacking a big punch he was a real craftsman who seemed like he could do it all along with an iron chin. Any comments or opinions?
I figure graham as a spadafora type, very good but lacking a will to win and a bit of power, but he did beat basilio and no one lacking heart could do that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzguVXihYCQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WpnoiRf_Gg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ICKgFl404dE
ru, don't get me started on Billy Graham. One night as a young lad my dad and I went to the fights at St. Nick's Arena in NY. we got our tickets and waiting at the turnstyle for the ticket taker a young fellow carrying a gym bag get's in front of us and is allowed in by the ticket taker. We were slightly annoyed at this young fella jumping in front of us , but it turned out that this guy fought in a prelim fight under the name of Billy Graham...He won that bout and over the years I saw Billy fight many times...He was as good a classic boxer you could ever see, with a truly iron chin that was NEVER DENTED in 126 fights. His only drawback was Graham could never hit very hard, but his trainer Whitey Bimstein swore that he never saw Billy Graham staggered in his career against the likes of Gavilan, Basillio, Joey Giardello... Only one man outboxed Billy Graham and that was the terrific boxer/puncher Tippy Larkin, who even outboxed Willie Joyce. But Tippy who was never outboxed had a glass jaw... But Billy Graham would be WW champion today. No doubt...
