    Hi,

    How are you all?

This is John Evans from Billy Graham's Boxing Podcast.

Since the monthly column we wrote in Boxing Monthly ended, we've been planning a podcast and managed to get the first episode out this week. So far, it has been well received. It's as straight talking as you would imagine and I hope we manage to make it entertaining.

This is just a quick message to invite you all to get involved with the show. Billy wants the podcast to be led by boxing fans and will happily discuss the topics you want and answer any questions you may have.

The first episode is available now via all your usual outlets and we talk Joshua and Fury, meet Billy's new pet and relive the night Michael Gomez and Alex Arthur went to war.

I won't post a direct link or the shows email address as I'm not fully aware of form rules and don't want to get banned straight away but we'd love boxing fans to get involved.

I've watched the first one u did.
    I really enjoyed it.
I heard u mention that Gomez was your fav British fighter and as u can see from my avitar, I'm a massive Gomez fan.
He epitomized the gritty British title fighter that we all have a place for in our hearts,. His ringalks were something else and got everyone pumped up, whether you were their at the fight or watching it live in your front room.
Anyway John here's my 1stvquestiion for Billy.
Whenever I see Billy in an interview either now or back in the days when he was a trainer i i always got a sense from him that he was proud of the Manchester boxing scene and he viewed in a different light to the rest of the country's boxing scene.
Could he say why he felt the manc scene was different, and did he feel that overall they had better trainers and fighters there.

Secondly when Gomez fought AAA did you come up against any dirty tricks, underhandeness or intimidation, seen as tho u were up Scotland and not the home fighters team. I've heard of some of these tactics been used in Scotland before and seen as though this fight was so big did they turn it on for you.
    Finally.
All the best Billy, British Boxing misses you.

Loved the first episode. Will defo be watching the rest. billy grahams been a massive loss to british boxing.

Guys got a lot to share/pass on its been a pity that he,s kept himself to himself in terms of self promotion etc. Massive positive getting him involved in something like this. Always great to listen to.

Epic style...almost turned offence into the best form of defence and managed to make it work.

Only questions i can think of atm is....does he think hatton would have had a chance against pacman with him in rickys corner. Or would he have tried to avoid the fight knowing they,d have no chance against him. What gameplan if any would he have tried to beat him with.

    And

Knowing the experience he has now would he have changed their approach slightly if they done it all over again....in terms of you had pacman and floyd being ultimate professionals. Ricky was a great professional in camp but out of camp was another matter. Did it really have much bearing in the end. Or could he have got more out of hatton knowing he was destined to fight floyd etc. Slowed down the pace in training to train longer. Got him eating cleaner earlier...kept him ticking over in the gym more etc.

Personally knowing how hard hatton trained i m not sure it would have made much difference....its just that mayweather and pacman we,re just naturally a bit too good in the end being the best 2 fighters of the generation. I do feel billy would have got a lot more out of hatton against pacman tho.

    And

Did he learn anything from the mayweather fight. In terms of that was pretty much the pinnacle of the sport. Billy was brilliant imo....but he hadn,t been at that level before because few have been. Was it a case of coming away thinking we,ve learned a lot from it....or a case of it just wasn,t our night.

    Thanks so much for these.

We start looking back at his time with Ricky this week. We're going to start back when a teenage Hitman first waked through his door.

I'm glad you all enjoyed it!
