Was watching his fights with Pryce and Tony Hill and he's looking pretty darn good so far. His poise is nice and he seems to be developing everything very well. He seems to have good accumulative power, also. We'll find out next week a bit more when he fights that undefeated guy but do you think he'll get to the top? (or near it) It's a hell of a time to be in his division seeing the types of names from Martinez, Chavez Jr, Geale, Golovkin, Sturm, Pirog, Quillin, Mundine, Murray, Lee, Macklin, Barker, Andrade, Sanchez, Proksa, Taylor, Guerrero, Zbik, Ishida, Clottey, Mora and so on.. I could see him beating guys like Sturm, Geale, Barker, Zbik in the future, but not so sure about the others. He's a great talent, but this division just seems super deep right now. What do you nuccas think?
i think hes ok fighter, but i just think he needs more tougher testing fights before we jusdge him , cannae see him beating Geale or Strum
He is doing everything right so far and has looked pretty impressive especially in his last two fights, but you have to take into account who he was facing. Neither Tony Hill or Bradley Pryce are above English level so you'd have to expect him to look as good as he has done. We won't know how good he is until he steps it up, Flecter is abit of a step up in class but I have never seen him fight so can't say how good he is. I think he certainly has the potential to go quite far, but another concern I have is what weight he is at. I think he should really be a LMW he looks very fleshy at Middleweight which will hinder him when he moves up as the guys he will be fighting will be much bigger physically. Also the Middleweight division is very strong both domestically and Internationally so moving down to Light Middle would certainly make it easier to get titles and progress up levels. I think he will go on to fight for a world title but I don't think he will ever get to hold one of the major belts.
I think he's talented and seems to be settling down in pro ranks a bit more now he's got past the injuries. Didn't see much of the Pryce fight, did see him breating heavy inbetween rounds which did make me wonder if he prepares as well as he could. This Fletcher is no mug at all, Billy Joe will have to be motivated and prepared for a tough fight because Fletcher does have a good rep. How far can he go?. Talent wise all the way, but talent is a small part of the sport. I don't doubt he has heart, but what's his mentality like and how does he adapt in tough fights. I've not seen him hard pushed, Fletcher will be the first man to do that IMO.
He's sailed through everything so far but its difficult to judge him until he consistently fights top opposition.
Also may i add, in a strang way the injuries may of helped him, let him go under the radar somewhat. He's now slowly emerging, he was always going to be moved slowly by Frank who did say that around time of signing Billy Joe. Stacked division it is as you say, but stacked divisions can often clear out quickly as well. A defeat and a fighter blames weight and moves up, a fighter declines, others go for bigger fights in other divisions etc. All about timing this game..
I think his fight on the 14th against Jarrod Fletcher will tell us a fair bit. Fletcher is quality opposition (albeit inexperienced) and if Saunders is off his game he could come a cropper. I think it could be a pretty decent scrap! :bbb:bbb:bbb:bbb:bbb:bbb:bbb:bbb
