The dude is overvaluing himself (like most fighters out there...)

    Here are the quotes:

"An offer has been made but people need to understand I don't have a loss on my record and it's not like Golovkin's last opponent David Lemieux who had lost twice before he fought him," Saunders explained to scribe Nick Parkinson. "I believe I'm a better champion than Lemieux was so deserve more. They [Golovkin's team] are not chucking peanuts around but I'm not going in there just to pick the money up

If I take the fight with Golovkin I genuinely believe I could beat him but they have got to put some proper money on the table and if they do that then I will do it. I could earn that money against someone else. They are offering life changing money but it's not just about that because it would be a big risk for me." According to Saunders, he could make the same amount of money for a rematch with Chris Eubank Jr. or another voluntary defense in his backyard. He wants enough money to make it an opportunity so lucrative where he can't refuse.

"They've got to pay me more money than I would get for the Chris Eubank Jr rematch. Now I'm world champion I've got options and I could make my money elsewhere. Most definitely the fight with Golovkin will happen at some point, most definitely. He wants to fight me because he wants to unify all the belts," Saunders said. "I'm not ruling out fighting Golovkin next, I've got to talk to my manager and Frank ****** about it. I will fight him but I would like it to be in England and if they can do that I would take a bit less, but they have to give me something. But there are other middleweights out there for me like [British champion] Nick Blackwell and unbeaten American fighters or even Lemieux. I would be a big underdog against Golovkin but I believe I could pull off the upset."

Golovkin offered BJS 2.2 million dollars to fight in the U.S. I think Saunders wants 6 million to fight in the U.S, and maybe less (probably like 4 mill) to fight in the U.K.

It's ridiculous. Even Mayweather doesn't give his opponents 6 million bucks besides a few exceptions.

team Golovkon should make the deal, a johnsn fight would be woeful, even though billy joe should want to test himself against the best

If HBO built a 4 part 24/7 and had a Face/Off Billy Joe might make it worth it, I'm sure he'd make the lead up with his s***talking damn entertaining....But yeah not close to worth that much yet especially in the US.

If Canelo, Jacobs, and Saunders all refuse to fight GGG then there is absolutely nothing wrong with choosing Johnson and getting the mandatory out of the way. It would be the logical thing to do.

You'd only see that for Canelo/Golovkin, I bet.

Lemieux was the better champ. He faced GGG on his 1st defense and didn't demand it to be in Canada either.

    Yeah unfortunately....

The sad thing is Canelo will get that kind of money (probably way more) and get the 24/7 coverage for sure..... meanwhile he has far less of a chance against GGG than Billy Joe does and the lead up to that fight will be far less entertaining. I'd love to see Billy Joe Vs. Canelo and then the winner takes on GGG.

Do you have any proof that he offered Saunders 2.2 million dollars?

Gennady made 2 million dollars in his last fight, which was arguably against his biggest name opponent (which also happened to be on PPV.) Lemieux made approximately 1.5 million in that fight.

It seems perplexing that Saunders would get offered a higher purse than GGG made himself just a few months ago. Especially factoring in it would be on regular HBO, not PPV.

If Billy Joe actually received anywhere near that supposed monetary amount, he should probably go ahead and take it since he won't see that kind of cash fighting anyone else at this juncture of his career.

Why shouldn't he want more than a jr rematch? Seems pretty obvious to me?

Ggg is nearly 34 years of age, he doesn't have time on his side. He must make concessions asap if he wants to be a great.

Bjs is not over valuing himself but more pricing him self out of the fight for the time being. Why take 2 mil now, if he can defend it a few times and then cash out for more potentially.
