After all the talk by old man ***** about Lee not having any choice but to fight BJS we now hear Billy has raised the white flag and given up the chance to fight for the title immediately.

Did he do this for the 'step aside' money? Or has he done this because he realises he isnt at world level yet?

In some ways it seems like a smart move to me cos BJS isnt at world level yet as many of his performances have shown. The question is though how long is it going to take to get BJS to world level? Will he ever reach "top top" level or he is another Frankie Gavin in terms of being a great amateur and talented domestic fighter but lacking in the tools to be a dominant force at world level?

I'm hoping you just made this up, because if Saunders has stepped aside to allow Quillin a completely undeserved world title fight i'm giving up on the sport for a while. Quillin was too scared to take on Korobov, the thought of him walking into a fight against a guy who knocked Korobov out makes me sick.

Saunders has no ambition he needs to get some belief in himselft, he's always keeping himself fairly grounded in any interviewi seen with him, why is he stepping asdie from a world title a second time

    its a win-win for Saunders

if Lee wins he gets the fight he was going to have before but now it will be even bigger as Saunders will be on the undercard an will increase the build up. Also the 6 figure step aside money on top of that

And if Quillin wins he will be his mandatory. And you know what that means BJS will force purse bids (Jay Z comes in with a mega offer) ,Haymon will refuse the fight, Quillin vacates and BJS gets to fight someone more than likely no where near as good a pick up an easy world title

or else Haymon makes a huge offer to BJS to fight Quillin(to avoid the embarrassment of making Quillin turn down a record payday) and BJS gets his title and a 7 figure fee on top of the step aside money

i also think BJS needs another tough tune up fight before he will be ready for a world title shot

Saunders ,regardless of his latest win,is not ready for fighters like Lee or Quillin.Smart move, get money for nothing, get another fight in for experience to test his endurance and still get a title fight down the road.Good move.

What a fanny of a boy , world title chances dont come often and to bypass one twice is a joke , he will regret it for the rest of his life if he gets caught with a shot and loses in a so called tune up bout

why? he more than likely just got step aside money that is more than the biggest purse he has earned in his career

and he will still be mandatory after and make even more money than he would have made before, smart move

As long as he has been promised first dibs on a shot at the winner, then its win win for BJS

I liked to look of Lee vs Saunders. Now that coward quillin is back in the mix.

Hopefully lee can pull of another upset.

As for step aside money, it'd take a lot for me to turn down free money.

You beat me to it here. He's building up a good record, just had a good win,but has beaten no proven world class men. Yet. Plus he's a relatively young man. These kind of accusations were being hurled at another young boxer who a couple of weeks ago won a version of the heavyweight title. Id like him to fight 2 top 10 men first, then he'd have a better chance. He's only to look at Lees career to see that.

Thing is if it goes to purse bids Frank will prob go for it, he loves a home title fight. If he wins Quillin will vacate again rather than fight in England.

Didn't quillin reject the fight because of roc-nation? I'm sure he'd of fought him had al won the purse bid...

has he got a shot at ibf with taylors legal / mental issues? think he's no 4 ranked, (couple of vacant numbers ) with ndam and sturm ahead of him. assuming sturms at SMW he's got a fight for a vacant title against n'dam?

this could be why he's taken the free money, he can fight for the ibf even if he loses he can still fight for the wbo later?

still annoyed quillins fighting for it after vacating and having a year out, hopefully lee will ko him
