It's funny. Billy is a born counterpuncher, be it in the ring or in an interview. The reporter from Canelo's home country said "this is the biggest fight in your career, before or after" - how do you expect him to react? It wasn't even a question, he was just taking a shot. He didn't begin the juvenile game until that moment. Saunders is a ridiculous character, but it's never hard to see the rhyme and reason he does things.
I don't like Saunders and those videos he made where he was mocking crackheads and homeless people was beyond the pale for me. I think he's got an ugly side to his character, clearly. But it's funny as hell that he acts like this during fight week. It's hilarious sometimes. I also enjoyed the Dublin Nando's episode with Wilder.
He crosses the line sometimes and I didn't like the stuff with the prostitute and the homeless guy albeit being a prankster I don't think he realized how bad it looked at the time. The lobbing the roast chicken at The Tuscaloser episode was pure gold though and even though his humour is juvenile he's entertaining and is genuinely funny sometimes I liked this This content is protected
He's a Jekyll & Hyde type init? That video shows Billy as a good lad helping out an old lady giving her a few extra quid. If Billy were like that all the time, he'd have all the respect and admiration in the world. There's a fine line between pushing boundaries and rubbing people the wrong way. Billy just doesn't have any limits to his personality, so he doesn't stop himself when he knows something is bad, he just says and does whatever he feels like at all times. Half the time it's brilliant the other half the time it's cringey and rubs people the wrong way. The greats know how to fine tune that, and avoid being seen as an A hole. But some people like it and like people who don't give two ****s about anything. But to many people, once you cross that line, you can never be respected. I personally find myself going back and forth, wanting to like him, and at times thinking he's a pretty funny happy go lucky chap but then as soon as you start to warm up to him, he'll say or do something that throws it all out the window.
I agree with this assessment but to be honest he could steal all my belongings and I'd still probably cut him some slack just for providing us with the lobbing half a roast chicken at The Tuscaloser moment lol
Where's Saunders son the one that hit Monroe Jr in the balls in the press conference when you need him?
