He then presented himself as all risk for small reward followed by his boogieman stage in which he couldn't get anyone of note to share a ring with him. When he finally established himself and a fanbase he then chased paydays that no-one would give him unless forced and having aged and started to look less formidable.

Golovkin prob did lie on his main motivation. I think most fighters who say money isn't their primary concern are liars.

And don't start getting all isalty because I think Golovkin can have lied and Canelo still be a *****. A bit like Golovkin fans went overboard hyping him and Canelo fans embarrass themselves defending every twat move their ginger god makes.

 

BJS is skilled and usually turns it up a notch against good opposition. I’d rather see this fight at 160 where BJS has looked his best. I understand why it needs to happen at 168 and have no complaints. If Canelo beats him legitimately, it’s a solid addition to his resume. Would much rather see Beterbiev or even Bivol who said he’d meet Canelo at 168 but it wouldn’t be for a belt so is probably not attractive. Bivol would be an interesting fight, much better than this one. He’s still improving but has good size and is a good boxer. Not well known and too good makes this a high risk low reward scenario. We know what usually happens when rhis is the case.

Other outlets are reporting it's been green lit so the situation is currently as clear as mud. Still I'm hopeful this fight happens and that we don't have any silly clauses put in this time ahead of what I hope to be a fair and definitive result.
