    My problem is

When martinez and cotto had the belt i wanted them to face ggg

Even tho martinez was past prime. And cotto smaller i still wanted them to fight ggg.

Ggg was younger and bigger but i had no problem wanting to see ggg get in the ring with them .

When i want Andrade and charlo to fight ggg

    They say

" oh ggg is past prime "

Yet ggg fans wanted ggg to fight past prime martinez

    I say charlo ggg

They say " what has charlo done to earn a fight with ggg "

They say " ggg was cottos mandatory"

Well i say. Charlo was ggg mandatory

They say. Charlo did nothing to earn a fight with ggg

I say the same thing. Ggg did nothing to earn a fight with ggg

    Ggg wanted to fight.

    Retired froch

    Small cotto

    Shot martinez

    Smaller floyd

But when active guys like. lara ward called him out

Promotional issues etc were used as an excuse

I agree, great welterweights and a lightweight
They all swerved him until he showed age and was slowing down, Ginge especially
Actually, thinking about it, who ?? he has to have won or its irrelevant im sure you will agree !

    I agree with the above.
Martinez was shot I still wanted to see triple G destroy him

cotto Was tiny who snatched the belt off a crippled (Martinez)

again I have no problem watching GGG giving cotto the “Ali / Munguía” treatment.

Nelo got the opportunity as he was the money fight & he seized a similar opportunity & snatched the MW strap from cotto who both had no business having & only had it because Martinez was crippled & both wanted none of GGG at the time.

“Can-Yellow” at that time wisely listened to oscar & dropped the belt because he new GGG was stronger & better then him at that weight & prolly still burning from the fuego schooling Floyd gave him when he bit off more the he could chew.

    i get all of that.

what I don’t understand is the complaint that GGG & ggg fandom have.

there are plenty of guys that get / have gotten avoided but what separates the greats from the honorable mentions is those guys take chances & make concessions to make & get legacy career defining fights.

Ggg resume is pretty anemic, whether it's his fault or someone else's. He had a great run against guys future fans will never even rate. But against guys actually making a name, he's not the same. He can legitimately say he was the best middleweight in the world at one time, though.

Exactly my problem people act like ggg is a child

" ggg was robbed in Vegas"

Who's the idiot who signed the contract knowing what happened the first time. .

Canelo fails drug test. (Ggg still wants to fight him)

Canelo vacates his belt ( ggg waits for canelo puts career on hold ) passes on billy joe saunders deal

Ggg fans say canelo aged ggg

But ggg was the idiot who waited for him

Ggg walks down canelo the first fight in vegas gets a draw. ( still signs the contract to face canelo in vegas again)

Now here we are once again ggg putting his career on hold for canelo

Meanwhile canelo captured. Light heavyweight belt and is seeking a 168 title

Golovkins only legacy are his canelo fights

Two fights which he couldnt take out the smaller man

    Tommy hearns was a MW
Sugar ray leonard was a MW
Durán while smaller the fight still took place at MW (similar to Nelo vs GGG)

Ginger did swerve & wisley $o
But he fought him twice & split with him in my opinion.

Hopkins fought Roy Jones & lost the 1st fight
Hopkins fought Trinidad & one of his best wins imo
    Those 2 are Greats.

    I beginning to think YDKSAB

When KO artists refuse to go for the KO its usually because they fear being KO themselves.

    When will you guys learn?

    Canelo will never fight Trout
    Canelo will never fight Lara
    Canelo will never fight Golovkin
    Canelo will never fight Jacobs
    Canelo will never fight Kovalev

    And now you

    Canelo will never fight Saunders

TBF to Golovkin he wanted to move up for significant paydays. Froch and Jr. would of brought that but they didn't take the fight and without those fights he may well have found himself frozen out again.

FWIW I don't think Golovkin was as good as people were hyping but the the fact is no-one at 160 and outside of Ward no-one at 168 either wanted to step up and test him.

    agreed.
Ward was who I was implying
But I suppose he didn’t want to take that risk & get KOvaleved.

KOvalev yet another sacred cow on this forum.

Well I think for that fight to have been all it could be we would of needed to see Golovkin beat Froch to really establish himself as a force at 168 and show us he could be a real threat to Ward.

Ward didn't move straight up to fight Kovalev, he fought a couple of other dudes first to acclimatise himself at 175. I don't see anything wrong with that and would extend the same courtesy - plus a potentially great fight with Froch - to Golovkin.

Legacy wise Golovkin has been a bit of a simp throughout his career but he eventually got himself paid which seems like it was always the most important thing for him anyway.
