What do you consider first went rating a fighter?

I thought by now people would really stop underestimating Canelo.

It's not that easy to win by decision vs Canelo. :)

Close decision to Canelo. Style wise a bad matchup for Canelo relative to the difference in their skill. Saunders earned respect but getting a little overhyped for the Lemieux schooling, I believe.

Yeah LOL They really don't fancy it.

here's the quote I've read a few times now..

"We already knew he was a good fighter but what surprised us is how much he runs. He does not allow himself to fight, he starts running, it's a very annoying style. Canelo already fought with a similar style with Erislandy Lara and he got through it. So having said that, we're going to keep the focus on the tiebreaker [with Golovkin]," Gomez said to ESPN Deportes

    BJS decisions Canelo
Any fight at 160 vs a natural Middleweight is an unfair fight to Canelo due to the size disadvantage

What a crock of crap. You started watching the second you heard of ODLH at the Olympics. You may have started watching boxing when you were 14, but you haven't learned dick since.

What was your famous quote, "If 3G fought Liam Smith, Smith would have been his toughest opponent to date."

What was it in Smith's game that made you come to that conclusion? I mean, other then the fact that Canelo JUST fought and beat him. LOL....

He won. Period. Didn't KO him, but that doesn't chance the fact that GGG landed more. He still has lead feet and gasses out. If his feet were faster he would of got hit less.

I think the turning point has started with him. I seriously believe he wants anyone now. GGG's getting old, canelo for me loses on styles. The hardest fight for Saunders is Jacobs at 160 now. 3 yr ago I think Golovkin stops him late or it's points, i'm not confident he has it in him to chase Saunders anymore for 12 !

He got hit with the weakest, safest punch you can throw in boxing.

I'm not sure how long you've followed Pro-Boxing, but unlike AMATEUR-boxing, the amount of punches landed are not a factor in choosing the winner.

When Canelo threw power punches, he threw them with intention, and it was quite noticeable . GGG's cleanest punches were jabs, and the power punches that he did throw were mostly partially blocked or smothered. GGG did a great impression of Margarito though.

And BTW, GGG did not win, it was a draw.

I like the way Saunders boxed. I hope he steps up in comp so he can properly be rated.

I doubt the experts/bookies would make him a favorite against the Top 3 MWs.

This is amateurish at best. Amateurs don't = jab fest and pro's don't = power shots only club. The jab is the most important punch in your arsenal, if you want to be a good BOXER, it ALL starts behind the jab. I'm not discrediting power shots, but if they aren't hurting your opponent or keeping him totally honest, they aren't worth their asking price especially as far as efficiency goes, that's a lot of expent energy for flash and not much substance.

There is not one single punch that is more important. It all depends on how you use it. A nice jab can help your game out tremendously, but its not going to necessarily win you fights. Quartey, Wright, W Klit, and several other fighters with incredible jabs have lost fights, in their primes.

Fighters that rarely relied on jabs or were not a huge factor in their fight game but were very dominant were Roy Jones Jr, Mike Tyson, and Manny Pacquiao.

A jab can be completely neutralized with timing, head movement, speed, and other ways.

The way you score in the AMS is by landing scoring punches, doesn't matter how hard, doesn't matter if you get KD.

The jab is a very easy, and safe punch to throw. Many fighters who go on survival mode, or can't figure their opponent will rely on the jab to look busy and attempt to score points.

A fighter should be rewarded for his effective aggression more so than his ability to flick out jabs.

Canelo's boxing ability against GGG included timing, power punches, and defense. GGG was reduced to jabbing against a slow, feather fisted, lead feet fighter, unwilling to go all balls out, and by the time the championship rounds came, Canelo was Teeing off on GGG.
