Saunders was talented but I always thought he was a bit overrated personally. After his stand out performance over big punching David Lemiuex he never really seemed to build on that and his career seemed to stall.

I'm not actually sure TBH Saunders has the skills to beat Barkley but he's unproven against real notable opposition. And whilst Saunders is good I don't think he's at a level where his skills are out of reach for Barkley to make into a battle and beat him up in the middle to late rounds.

You know what, I'd actually go with Barkley here. Saunders has no hope of stopping a MW or SMW/LHW Barkley and nothing he throws will even deter someone who has walked through far more firepower than Saunders has the ability to unleash, and won. Saunders can't keep Barkley off him all 12, hell by round 4-5 Barkley would be landing to the body, the hips and shoulders. Saunder's corner would pull the plug in the late rounds.

Saunders comfortably, look how much trouble a fat Saunders gave a prime Canelo. At 160 he would be too quick, mobile and intelligent for Barkley.

Is Saunders that much better than Darren Van Horn? Look what happend to him. Michael Nunn barely beat prime Barkley. I would favor Barkley.

Same here. Saunders too slick for Barkley and Barkley doesn't have the speed or skills to catch up with him. Barkley was mainly known for being as tough as nails so I reckon Saunders on points is an easy call.

I’m sure that @Loudon will agree that he’s pretty much the same guy as Kalambay.

    I loved Billy.

He was one of my favourite fighters. I still hold out hope that he’ll return.

But this needs a lot of thought.

Billy was a talented southpaw. But Barkley had underrated skills and he was tough.

I was only a kid for the Nunn fight. But if I’d have been around back then, I’d have assumed that Michael would have made a bit of a fool out of him.

Yet look what at what happened.

Go and watch that fight if you’ve not seen it.

Billy was nowhere near as talented as Michael.

Barkley was just awkward with his attributes.

Go and look at a prime Michael Nunn fight Iran Barkley.

Billy caused Canelo issues, but Canelo hasn’t got that aggressive style that offsets a guys rhythm.

Barkley would have pushed Billy back aggressively.

It would never have been comfortable.

Billy didn’t have the power to have gained his respect.

A lot more to it than you think.

A prime Nunn struggled with Barkley.

Billy wasn’t as talented or as elusive as a prime Michael Nunn.

If Billy won, it certainly wouldn’t have been easy.

He barely beat a young Eubank.

I’ve also seen him struggle with much lesser guys too.

There’s no way you can predict an easy win. And this is coming from one of his biggest fans.

Not sure if you’re serious or not.

Sumbu was far more talented than Billy.

    Really?

    A southpaw?

A fast orthodox technician with a great jab.

    They’re not really alike.

Apart from that they were skilful fighters in the same division.
