Louis was a world champ Lemieux isn`t and doesn`t have the savvy to be one, Max Schmeling would have toyed and destroyed Saunders and Lem!
90-95 % of ALL pro boxers then .. the good ones and the crap ones.. were American. Thats what I meant by it being practically an a domestic sport. All of Joe Louis' opponents coming up - the bums/the journeymen were american as well as the world level guys. Because many countries could not compete professionally then. There isn't no Russians Ukrainians or Kazakhs in guys like Joe Louis' resumes put it that way!
Where in my post did I say Saunders hit remotely close to as hard as Rocky?? And where did I say Saunders would have a chance against any ATG HW?? Learn to read there guy.
I saw an interview with Conn's wife and she said Billy only weighed 160-168lbs. BJS looks like he rehydrates to a lot larger than that. To me it seems like he's going to war at 175-180lbs.
I think the reason Louis had problems with Conn was because he focused more on mobility than hitting Louis hard. In fact, he was KOed when he started trying to KO Louis.
BJS would in come similar weight to Billy Conn and was a southpaw that Joe's trainer never wanted Joe Louis to face. So on that basis BJS would definitely have a live chance of upsetting Joe Louis.
Boxers from before the late sixties couldn't compete with boxers from today, doesn't matter the weight, a top modern pro like BJS would beat even Joe Louis.
