It was a calculated risk that backfired for GBP. The fourth belt has a lot of value to them.

Forget my last post just got off work, brain is cooked. Some of you guys are right, Jacobs brings nothing to table, can act like a diva, and would probably want the bigger purse, and while he is a very good fighter he poses a lot of risk and little if any reward and isnt a huge draw.

"Sex and prostitutes.... until I get AIDS" ****er cracks me up.

Anyways, look.... Im gonna call this a duck. Its hard to call this one a duck when you are gunning for the clear number one guy (usually youre given a pass for wanting to fight the best guy instead of the third best guy) but with Golovkin obviously out of the picture for the near future (with the Canelo rematch), and with the same going for Canelo, leaving Jacobs as the clear choice, still would be one of if not THE best win of BJS's career, AND Jacobs is calling you out? And you throw 5 mill out there.... eh... Imma call it a duck.

That being said, I would think people within the business will say 5 million when they mean 3 million. Its just a number to come down from, imo. Hes also completely spot on with the Hearn Warren situation.

But his apparent lack of interest is what I dont like. Would have been nice to see him say he would really want that fight and he hope it can get made but one has to be realistic and the two promoters just dont work with eachother. Instead he throws an unrealistic number out there right out of the gate, its gonna look like an attempted swerve, even if its not.

Thats kinda a ridiculous precedence (one that didnt start with Kova, Judah accepted around that much to challenge Spinks in their rematch as well just to make the fight happen) Expecting top tier fighters to accept however low a purse will go in order to make a fight is a bit over the top and unrealistic, imo.

Guys like Kova and Judah should be applauded for moves like that, but it shouldnt be a reference in which to goad other fighters to do the same. That just encourages belt holders to make these kind of economically ignorant demands and say 'well if you want the fight youll fight for 100k'. Its a ridiculous precedent and standard.

I see it as an investment kirk, you take the short end of the stick and invest in yourself, take 100k, get a belt then make 5 million plus to fight GGG or canelo again, thats what guys without belts used to do

And he also said he was going to have sex with prostitutes until he gets AIDS, he's ****ing around. He knows Frank Warren and Eddie Hearn don't do business with one another. So he threw out a price. And quite frankly, it wouldn't shock me if Eddie bit. Its worth a shot.
