Pretty much this. Canelo would be in there with someone with much faster hands and a good punch. That's too risky.

The same people who wrote Tyson Fury off against Wladamir Klitschko are writing Billy Joe off against Canelo.

Come off it man, Lemiuex was not avoided. The Canelo fight would have been in play if Lemiuex had beaten BJS in Canada.

His promoters gambled big on that card, in the hope that a Canelo fight would await the winner.

Canelo didn't want any part of that BJS, they played the whole 'boring like Lara' card.

Was there even talk of a Canelo - BJS fight back then?

The best BJS defeated Andy Lee reasonably comfortably and beat a Lemieaux who never looked in the fight and didn't look in the best shape. Canelo has improved considerably since the first GGG fight and looks a very good fit for SMW now, whereas BJS really should be campaigning at 160 and always looks just a little bit soft at SMW.

I can see Canelo stalking BJS, pressuring with his feet and going for the body constantly in an effort to slow BJS. If BJS isn't in absolute peak condition, I can see Canelo grinding him down to a late stoppage or fairly wide UD.

I hope I'm wrong and inspite of BJS' social media ***** ups, I still think that a BJS win would just break up Canelo's monopoly and maybe just open things up a bit at SMW.

If Saunders actually trains and plans properly for this fight - and assuming the judges scoring is fair (as this will go the distance), then he wins.

It was Canelo or GGG... Instead he fought nasal spray and lost
