Back in the mix with the WBC at number 5. Charlo Interim, Canelo champ, Golovkin number 1. Tough route to go down. Does he wait for the WBO to open instead?
Saunders is a joke. Whether it’s the WBO or WBC, he should be made to face and beat at least 1 solid contender before he gets anywhere near a title shot.
BJS used to be probably my favourite British boxer, but i just can't look at him the same since the failed test. As @Dragon Punch says, he should be made to fight eliminators before a title shot, against an actual contender and not some fighter who got in the rankings through winning the european or international belt
I think Saunders will find it hard to get a big fight against one of the top dogs now he hasn't got a title. A super slick southpaw who doesn't sell very well, he's well and truly in the "who needs him" club. I don't think anybody will be rushing to give him a voluntary shot. He'll probably have to try and get himself into a mandatory position. I could see him fighting N'dam at some point this year in an eliminator.
Or maybe old Frank will pull a few strings with his pals at the WBO and get him made mandatory straight away as soon as his WBO ban is up.
At his best, he's Britain's best. Hope we one day get to see him at his best facing the best. I give him a real chance against Canelo and GGG.
Yeah he's gonna have to I think as he is virtually in the who needs him club now. Or he'll have to fight a few fringe contenders to work his way back up the ladder.
The doping ban he’s only got himself to blame. Fighting at cruiserweight last time out was a disgrace. 6 fights in 5 years. He’s a fantastic boxer and then with a win like the Lemieux one he’s riding a crest of a wave and was probably classed as Britain’s p4p number 1? Then once again just messes. I want to like Billy because his boxing ability is second to none but he doesn’t half make it hard.
BJS just isnt going to entice the major players into the ring, because of his awkward style and his lack of popularity. The Lemieux and CEJ fights were exciting, but the rest of his career has been either deadly dull or a damp squib. Its clear GGG and Clenelo arent keen, which basically leaves him in no mans land.
Golovkins not got an opponent and doesn't seem keen on Charlo Frank needs to get the checkbook out and stick it on PPV or something
