The judges know that they have to deal with some very angry gypsies if that happens. It was not pretty the last time brits thought they were robbed (Fury - Parker).
i can't decide which would amuse me more: Saunders winning but robbed on the cards, or carried out of the ring on a stretcher and dumped in the Atlantic.
Saunder's has a bad habit of coasting and fighting down to his opponents level. As evidenced by pretty much every fight he's had at decent level being pretty damn close. Monroe Jr. 115-114, 117-112, 117-111 Akavov. 116-113, 116-11, 115-113 Lee. 114-112, 115-111, 113-113 Eubank Jr. 115-114, 113-116, 115-113 Ryder. 115-114, 115-113, 115-113 Given his track record and the fact it's in Lemeiux's backyard I wouldn't rule out Lemeiux SD in the slightest. Very realistic possibility.
Well, he was still green in the Eubank fight and Eubank isn't bad himself. That isn't fighting down to your opponents level. Same with Lee. Lee held the title he currently has and is a world level fight. You don't fight down to world level unless you're a very special talent. The Monroe fight was a clear UD. Akavov is the one you actually have a point on.
How is the point not valid when literally every single fight he's had at a decent level has been relatively close on the cards? Saunder's coasts and fights to his opponents level - he was schooling Eubank Jr. before gassing out and coasting. He's going to have to be careful here - he might not be able to afford that type of performance in Lemeiux's backyard.
Lemieux will be probably 185lbs maybe even 190 by tomorrow night. He is way too easy to hit. It all depends on how Saunders reacts to him coming forward. Dwyer and Fat Dan think this will be very easy for Lemieux I dont see it as easy but I wouldnt be too surprised if saunders did what he did in 4 of his last 5. though maybe he does just that and yet again another close win but a wins a win and a close win vs David Lemieux I'd mark as his best win to date. Saunders has more places to go. Lemiux if he wins wil defened vs Canelo and lose.
here are the officals. referee: Michael Griffin (a french canadian ref yes but I've seen him outside of Canada and consider him one of the better refs) | Gerardo Martinez (legit doesnt ring a bell seems like a nobody) | Phil Edwards (iffy judge probably would favour Saunders in a close fight) | Benoit Roussel (iffy judge I've seen blow outs where a canadian lost wide where he scored it 115-113. intresting to note he scored Monroe vs Saunders 117-111 for saunders which I felt he had the right guy winning but that seems way too wide.
Seems fishy that such a unknown judge known for mostly scoring 4 rounds is judging this. Could be in golden boys pocket.
It will either be a UD for BJS by at least 4 points, or a late KO by DL. I do not see anything inbetween here. Both those outcomes are equally possible.
