If Burns retires he'll get his job back as James Toney's nutritionist. Jokes, hopefully he comes back. He's had a bit too much stick but it's his own doing in many ways, the way he interacts gives the dickheads so much rope to hang him with. I'm sure at the very latest he'll be back when Ricky wins his next fight.
Wow, you guys really don't give up do you? I imagine he's probably moved to a forum that's a bit more constructive, bit like ESB used to be. I don't think he's alone in that either...
Funny that.We were just discussing the time Billy flipped Gary Barlow(the poster) the bird on YouTube after Ricky beat Katsidis. Nice link Rocky
'Billy appears to be a very good trainer' The reason for that is he has taken a guy from being a journeyman to a two weight world champion. The reason he gets pelters as he says that he thinks Ricky is best Scottish boxer ever, better than Broner, best lightweight in the world and it was a fair result v Beltran. All totally wrong, he is nowhere being near any of the above. If he done himself a favour and admitted Ricky is fringe world class, we have utilised his ability to the best of his ability everyone would agree and give him a pat on the back, but he has done himself and Ricky a disservice by making above claims. PS, His advice during Beltran figt was spot on, and kept Ricky going, so he should be congratulated for that aspect, but gave pelters for his comments after the fight.
Good - hopefully he does. Say what you want about him, but the guy is a trainer to world champion boxer - was good having him on the forum.
He may be a trainer, But if your big enough to give it, then you gotta be big enough to take it. He was giving everyone the beans before the Gonzales fight and especially before the Beltran fight. Now his boy got embarrassed he is hiding his mug. I like Ricky and I have nothing against Billy but he has done himself no favors what so ever.
Exactly. Everyone above seems almost proud they've 'ran Billy out of town'! Constantly writing **** about trainers and boxers, starting numerous threads about how **** British boxing is, every British fighter is hyped up garbage etc etc. I mean is there a wider agenda here? For serious boxing fans it seems strange that for some people, the main aim is to alienate boxers and trainers that post here. Of course its a forum so critical analysis and opinion is what its all about, but its the blunt way its approached sometimes that seems a bit unnecessary. Sure i will be shot down in flames! I'm not a heavy poster here but been a member for a few years and it seems to have taken a turn in the last year, extreme negativity. Call me a dick, but I'm secretly quite a fan of british boxing! Hence why i'm here.
Embarrassed? Really? I saw a guy holding his head high having fought 10 rounds with a broken jaw in a competitive fight. No, he shouldn't have won and Billy himself has admitted as much - but losing by a round or two is a long way from being embarrassed.
