Giardello would be too crafty for Papke.

Would it be feasible to say that Giardello would be a step or two in front of Papke all the way?Side stepping, spinning an aggressive opponent, clinching and walking...I can see Giardello doing all of this and counting on his fantastic chin to beat Papke handily within fifteen rounds...but does the tread start coming off the tires especially if it is scheduled for past fifteen?

The big knock on Giardello was his stamina. He was known to huff and puff in 10 round fights and lots of people expected him to fade when he started fighting fifteen rounders. One the hand I could see Papke getting inside and staying real close to work over and wear out Giardello. Papke is a little underrated today. That being said the aggressive guys were usually the ones that Giardello could handle. It was the boxers that seemed to give him problems.

Papke was more than an aggressive slugger. He could box too, as he proved by outboxing the larger, stronger heavyweight Fireman Jim Flynn.

Hard to pick a winner though
