i personally think he did a great job with hatton, who used his trainer as an excuse for his first defeat and threw him aside like garbage(where've you heard that one before?!)perhaps if he'd kept billy instead of running with his pissy-arsed mates,he'd still be an elite fighter today, instead of a washed-up bum with issues today...

stop crying guys change their trainers , thats life theyre supposed to be professional people not cry babies, ricky did more for graham than vice versa , billy missed 2 fights cry me a river guys a chain smoker , only so much "body belt" can do

billy got lucky with hatton lets get it right if he was a top trainer this would be no issue and he would have another charge winning belts

I don't think they blamed Graham's ability as a trainer but I do think they questioned whether he was the right sort of trainer to be around Ricky, the sort of man who would go and get absolutely rat-arsed with Hatton, would let him have days off if he was hungover (what the hell he was doing getting pissed in the first place I'll never know). I think Graham missed out on some of the fundementals with Ricky, that's clear. However he was clearly the man who knew how to motivate Hatton going into a fight. I was always a little sceptical of Hatton's ability but when he got in that ring he got mean, something he never was after Graham left (that includes the Malignaggi fight in my opinion.)

Hatton took a chance to mix things up. Could of worked. Could of failed. It failed simple as in my opinion.

Well that's my post-mortem of the Hatton - Graham partnership.

i agree 100%.i was a huge hatton fan up until the mayweather fight - i even thought(perhaps deludedly)that with a more generous referee,he might even have beaten pbf,but alas,it wasn't meant to be.unfortunately, graham was used as the fall guy in the aftermath, and hatton seemingly forgot his roots and all the people who got him up into the superstar world to which he took a liking.ricky should remember that billy graham was there when no one gave a toss about him,not liam gallagher and pricks of that ilk...

He seemed fully aware of Ricky's strengths, and brought out the best in them. A shame he didn't bother focusing on his main weakness (defence).

i think you'll find ricky's main weakness was guinness.and at some point an adult has to take responsibility for his own actions, instead of laying the blame on the man who built him up into a fantastic fighting machine.just watch khan's family blaming everyone but their cash cow when he gets put to sleep down the line...

Floyd and Packy ruined Hatton not Graham morons!!!!

No Trainer even great ones like Roach/Dundee/Emmanuel/Rooney could have save Hatton from Floyd or Manny. Common Sense!!

Wide Punches, Face First, Bum Rush Brawling type tsk tsk tsk

Graham got too close to Hatton , became a pal , and that was the down fall. Going out and getting drunk together. Letting Hatton get to 180lbs between fights. Also I dont think a lot of British trainers really know top level training. Hatton should have been taught the following 1. Pressure fighters need a good Jab. 2 Pressure fighters dont come in on straight lines. 3 Learn when to put the pressure on.

If you notice in both of his loses and a close one with Collazo , when he was pressured Hatton didnt know what to do . That is very limited for a fighter with close to 50 fights. Hatton would have been much better had he gone to either the US or Mexico for a trainer.

Hatton ruined himself by being a complete and utter ***** after the Mayweather fight.

He needed to be honest with himself and realise where he was going wrong, but instead chose to make excuses and blame everybody but himself.

There's two types of sportsman. The honest one, and the rest. The honest one gets up in the morning and sets his standard, says I'm going to get better, I'm going to get better, I'm going to get better.

He doesn't complain about the flights, the hotels, the referees, these are just peripheral things that weak people are always complaining about.

    The dishonest sportsman.

    Hatton falls into that category.

    graham made hatton good

alot of people dont understand although hatton CAN box he's not great at it, he was great at doing what he did, hatton with grahams style and a little bit more head movement would have been even better!
