MMA doesn't exist as a sport, it's split in promotions that function as private companies, thus making all their ranking systems and titles illegitimate. Fighters from the UFC are not allowed to face fighters from other promotions. That's like Bob Arum or Eddie Hearn specifically forbidding their fighters to fight anyone else and setting up their own imaginary titles. UFC is a private company run by people who are only interested in their profit, they're not interested in the best fighting the best or setting up a legitimate sport.
Whatever they're interested in, the best are fighting the best. Rival promoters in boxing routinely avoid each other i.e. Arum and GBP. Plus the rankings there are paid for and mandatories aren't taken seriously. MMA has far more competitive matchmaking than boxing, it's undeniable. Everyone knows who the champ is and who the champ should be facing. A unilateral body makes all this work, unlike in boxing.
There are no champions in MMA. They don't have any official sanctioning body that could legitimately hand out titles. UFC is in no position to hand out world titles, it's a private company and a promotion. It has as much legitimacy as if Bob Arum or Eddie Hearn started giving out random titles to their fighters. It's a joke. It's a conflict of interest at least. UFC is basically like WWE. Also, where is this competitive matchmaking when they cut "boring" fighters from the UFC or don't sign them in the first place? Why did they let Rory go? Where is Askren? Why did they cut Fitch, Palhares, Shields, Rosholt...? Why are they letting Conor and GSP run the show and give them free title shots? Why are they signing non-fighters like CM Punk? Remember when Kimbo fought? It's a joke. Besides, there is A LOT of ducking going on in the UFC as well, it's just behind close doors. Fighters not accepting contracts to fight certain opponents or pulling out with imaginary injuries.
But there are champions though, everyone knows who every champion is, unlike in boxing where it's convoluted and corrupt. Any system were fighters have to pay for their ranking is ridiculous. Like WWE but full contact and real. The competitive match making is when time after time the best men in each division fight each other. Look at the number one fighter in each boxing division and track the legitimacy of their next opponent and you'll see what I mean. McGregor earnt every one of his title shots. GSP is probably the goat in MMA and providing Bisping fights Romero I've no issue with the fight. The level of ducking is minute compared to boxing. In fact ducking is the very reason I stopped giving a **** about boxing, the sport is full of prima donnas who build a padded record to earn a title shot then milk the belt with the pretence of being champion.
They aren't champions, they don't participate in any legitimate competitive format. It's a private competition inside a private company. There are no sanctioning bodies that would hand out titles. How do you know that they are the best in their divisions? Because the UFC tells you so? UFC fighters don't compete with fighters outside of the UFC so we can't possibly know. Some great fighters never ended up in the UFC. The divisions itself don't hold any legitimacy since they've been created by a private company and the weight limits and the names of the divisions make no sense. Certain fighters are extremely protected by the UFC and get favorable match ups. There's just a clear conflict of interest and it has nothing to do with sport. In MMA, the UFC itself is a promoter of ducking. They NEVER co-promote. They ducked from signing guys like Ben Askren or cut "boring" fighters after a single loss just so their prospects don't get derailed. It's ridiculous. Padded records in boxing are a result of boxers slowly getting experience like the fighters should. It's much better than in the UFC where most fighters have journeyman-style records and get butchered early in their careers, halting their progress.
What makes a sanctioning body so legitimate in your eyes, it seems quite a strange stance to take tbh. I dont know what the UFC rankings look like, I prefer those used by Sherdog tbh. Names don't make sense, what a ridiculous claim that is, how is it even remotely relevant? Look at the number 1 in every division in boxing and every division in MMA, let's see which sport has the higher percentage of "favourable" matchups. How can you possibly be in favour of padded records? The top ranked fighters continually fighting each other is clearly a better system. I could almost be led to believe you have something against UFC.
Pissping is trying to ***** out of the fight now smh http://www.mmamania.com/2017/5/17/1...oel-romero-prefers-wait-georges-st-pierre-mma
Yoel and Moussau to fight for the interim belt and winner fights Bisping in early 2018 once he fights GSP in late 2017.
