Bored of the pandemic.... thought it might be fun to take a fighter or two and play promoter for a while. Take a fighter in flux or at a crossroads and put together their next 3-5 fights. Whilst trying to be semi realistic... few random ones to start... Michael Hunter - In order to get him back in the public eye I would take a fight against Carlos Takam on a Top Rank show and take a win against a heavyweight with some profile. Up next I would look to match him with either Zhilei Zhang or Demsey McKean to ensure he is in a position to be called for IBF eliminator for the world title once AJ vs Fury is done just incase they decide to drop the belts for the second fight. Then third fight i believe Charles Martin is currently second in IBF but as he is a PBC fighter he will likely be fed to Deontay Wilder and therefore lose his position. Michael Hunter will likely then be called against Hrgovic in either a final eliminator or vacant tiltle shot. So it would be Takam, Zhang and Hrgovic. Regis Prograis - At a tough spot since the Taylor loss and now 32 years old. Needs a couple of winnable high profile fights to earn good money and get a title back. It is clear the winner of Taylor vs Ramirez is likely moving to chase a big fight at 147 and will vacate all the belts. That leaves plenty of big fights for Prograis in the interim. First things first I would look to make good money in a low risk high reward fight in what would likely be a final eliminator for the WBA against Lewis Ritson in Newcastle. I would then make the first defence after possibly being promoted to champion after the Taylor/Ramirez fight in a hometown fight against Jose Pedraza to add a solid name to the list before going into a third fight in the biggest fight that could be made at that point either a Taylor rematch if he loses to Ramirez and stays at 140 or in what would likely be a unification against Jose Zepeda. So it would be Ritson, Pedraza and Taylor/Zepeda Over to you guys.. have fun.
I'll just do some of my currently active favourites. Regis Prograis; fights Jack Catterall and takes his mandatory spot for the winner of Taylor-Ramirez, after he beats the winner, he beats the loser. He'll probably be 34 by then, so he'll want a big, big fight. Whichever of the Tank, Teo, Haney, Garcia crowd is the biggest draw, then if he wins that, beat the second biggest. I'd say that'll stay the same as it is, in that Teo and Garcia are the biggest draws. Juan Francisco Estrada; wins the Chocolatito rematch, then wins the rubber match with Rungvisai. Go for Ioka, should be win that, fight Ancajas. If he wins all three, cash out vs Inoue. Some great fights there. Oleksandr Usyk; go for Parker or Hunter, maybe the Povetkin-Whyte II winner while Joshua-Fury stalls his title shot. Once he's got a few proper names under his belt at HW, go for the title. TBH, win or loss, he could fight both Josh and Fury. Naoya Inoue; beat Casimero and Oubaali. Fight Ioka and Estrada. Move up, beat Nery, MJ, Fulton, Leo, etc; then retire as an all-time great. Josh Taylor; beat Ramirez then rematch Prograis. Fight Teo when he moves up, then move up to 147. Take on anybody from Spence/Crawford to Ennis and Ortiz. I expect he'll have either mixed or negative results above 140, but they'd be great fights.
