I always wondered how the fight would have ended had it never occurred?

based on tyson's freakout, i'd say holyfield was about two rounds away from ko'ing mike.. through the ropes.

I remember crystal clear, the day after this fight I asked a kid at school who won.

"Tyson was disqualified, because he bit Holyfield's ear off."

"Shut the **** up. What happened?

    "He bit his ear off."

    "You're ****ing kidding me."

"No, he bit his ear off."

    "Okay, seriously though, what happened?"

    "He bit his ear off."

"Dude, you 're ****ing with me. Come on, really, what happened?"

"Dude, I'm telling you, he bit his ear off."

And so on like that for about another three minutes.

Ah, that old "PSH"sound you used to hear in movies and TV when someone would get punched.

For some reason, punches go "PSH!", guns with silencers chirp ("beewp-beewp") arrows "buzz", and any knife that's thrown but misses MUST stick into something right next to the intended target's head.

It can't just fly off into the bushes or something. It's not allowed.

Holyfield would have beaten him. Tyson wasnt mentally right. Holyfield was obsessed with beating tyson because of years of disrespect, being seen as just a placeholder champ keeping the seat warm for mike.

Mike started losing his desire very ealry. Loading up instead of combinations and no headmovement is a symptom of wanting instant gratification, just trying to get it over with instead of doing it right. It started as early as the first bruno fight.
The absurd amount of money he got straight out of prison and the tune up fights that offered no resistance whatsoever didnt help make him hungry like he was in his first few pro years either.

    Quote from a holyfield interview

"Tyson used to fight very hard but once the reputation started beating the people before they got in the ring, he didn’t have to fight that hard. I realized that when he fought me that I was going to be able to take those shots and could he fight hard like he used to fight hard like that? Life is not about what you’ve done, it’s about what you’ve done today, and he didn’t have a lot of fights that made him have to be in great shape like that. When he fought me, we fought each and every round pretty hard. I won of course on acondition standpoint."

And mike was so talented that he got away with it against alot of guys, even good fighters. But not Holyfield. Holyfield always insisted on getting the last punch in any exchange no matter how hard tyson hit him. He was always in shape, barring injuries or PED experimentation related illnesses.
Even guys naturally 30 lb bigger and much younger than holyfield like bpwe had to go through hell to beat him. Mike was about the same size, unless he fouht the fight of his life and wanted it just as bad as holyfield he wasnt going to beat him.

"Tyson is a meteor, ali was a planet. Why? Because a meteor is exciting while it moves but planets last" -Teddy atlas
