What a classy and professional guy Bivol is. Honest and respectful with no anger regarding the decision not going his way. He makes the comparison between Canelo’s and Beterbiev’s power and claims that Canelo’s single punches felt harder. He also says that he took inspirations from Sugar Ray Leonard’s style of boxing and moving and you can see it with Bivol’s boxing style.

Hopefully we’ll see the rematch next year. Bivol has proven that he definitely belongs in the ring with Beterbiev and won’t easily go down just like all of Beterbievs last opponents.

That is very surprising. I know Canelo really loads up on his single shots more than he used to but i didn't think they would be comparable to Beterbievs

Yeah, if you need 20 seconds to load your one punch and put your whole body in it, it will be hard. Beterbiev did not land any big punch on him, because of his movements all the time.

Beterbievs jab hurt Bivol more, than Canelo did in the whole fight.

He said Canelo's single punches felt harder because Canelo puts everything into one shot. Beterbiev doesn't do that but his combinations are consistently hard. He thinks if Canelo threw combinations only the first shot would be hard whereas with Beterbiev every punch would be hard.

Crazy how he said he took a page out of srl book.
It definitly reminded me of Hagler vs SRL, the aged out fighter, the movement, the flurries to sway the judges into stealing rounds, the controversy.

I still like Bivol though, I hope they do the rematch straight away in march.

Are you surprised by this statement @vilderbeast? He said Canelo hits harder than Beterbiev.

If Beterbiev loaded up then he would hit harder than Canelo.

Bivol was saying that Beterbiev hit very hard without even trying, and when Canelo loads up with a shot swinging from the fences, it might be a little harder, but Beterbiev is easily the harder puncher and the hardest puncher in the division. He said he thought Beterbiev was going to knock his own glove through his skull just from trying to block his punches.

Doubt it. Canelo has 5 stoppages in his last 15 fights.. & i can only imagine what Beterbiev would do to Plant, Berlanga, Ryder Charlo etc.. i did think Beterbievs power was off last night for some reason tho.. probably a combination of factors like Bivol keeping him honest, ring rust, age etc... Bivol is probably just pissed off.

Beterbiev clearly hits harder, but his short punches are still brutal and he has more output. Canelos power even when he's swinging for the fences being comparable at all is still surprising.

And yet he was reeling from that power several times during the fight. Go figure.

The MAIN DIFFERENCE between Canelo and Beterbiev - and its a BIG DIFFERENCE - is engine/stamina. Beterbiev was cooking and heating up in Rounds 10 and 11 and Canelo was gassed after Rd 4 or 5 against Bivol.

No trainer or regimen is changing that - Canelo is who he is at this point. He's always fought in bursts and always had trouble versus defensively responsible opponents (Floyd, Lara, Trout, parts of BJS/Plant, and ofc Bivol). Its just that Canelo has a smaller window for success at 175 given height, weight, and reach disadvantages

I think its cause and effect. Sometimes its just the fact that Bivol is elite, like Delahoya vs Trinidad, Hagler vs Leonard. GGG vs Canelo. Neither were impressed with themselves, but gave their all. Thats what happens when you meet someone the same caliber. People say, what would you have done different? I don't know, i did everything i could. If could have done something differently i would have. Dude was tough and good.

The output is the key difference. Beter can bring it for 12 rds and Canelo gassed at 5 rds...

Absolutely hate it when people post like this. Thst is not what he said at all.

Whats worse is 80% of people just read the title or your post and just run with it like that is what Bivol said.
