Beterbiev is much slower than Louis, and has gone to war with much lesser fighters than Conn. I see Conn pulling off a decision against Beterbiev, unless he brawls. Bivol is 50\50 tho IMO.

You think a man who outboxed Joe Louis can't outbox Artur Beterviev?

As stated earlier, Beterbievs activity rate is much higher than Louis's. At least the version that Conn faced.
That's not so outlandish to state either, Beterbiev is two weight classes below Louis

Louis has better footwork, power, technique, a better jab, and is all round, ten times the fighter Beterviev is; while also being much harder to outbox, and yet Conn can't do it?

It doesn't make any sense. Beterviev hasn't done anything even remotely good enough to warrant a pick to 'destroy' Conn. And Bivol has never destroyed anything.

Also, the workrate point is completely moot. Conn fought his entire middleweight career facing some of the best swarmers of all time and thrived against them.

I've never understood these threads. If these matchups are such foregone conclusions (and always favoring the old timers somehow), then why even ask the question?

They don't, depending on the person. Not all old timers vs. modern fighters threads end in the old fighter's favour, although there are some biased dudes here and there.

Still, it's not like they aren't making sense either. Bivol and Beterbiev technically don't have the accomplishments to compare with the others all time, but I still think they'd be stylistically interesting matches. I think Bivol gives anyone here a tough fight.

    I don't know, I didn't make the thread.

The goal is to try and find out which fighter wins through their ability and style. Beterviev brings nothing to the table which Conn hasn't seen, or overcome; and what's more is Conn is much more proven than both Beterviev, and everyone he's every faced - combined.
