This could well be the key of the fight...

Reid has the classic body type for a hard puncher. Long arms and broad shoulders. He was very fast with his punches too. Reminds me of an old friend of mine who albeit wasn't the biggest guy but could hit as hard as someone twice his size. He too has a blockish build with broad shoulders. Now that I think of it, Shavers had long arms and broad shoulders. I think there's something there with how their body mechanics work. Just thinking of another guy, Deontay Wilder has long arms and broad shoulders. So too does Thomas Hearns. There's definitely something there with the body mechanics of broad shoulders and long arms. Adonis Stevenson.

I think Beterbiev has a different kind of power, the kind of power that George Foreman had in his time.

I don't remember Bivol ever saying that. In fact, I heard Bivol say that when he competed, it was at a different time than Beterbiev, that they weren't on the same circuit or something to that effect. But he did say that he was aware of him, just they they were like to ships passing in the night (to paraphrase).

I’d he as crisp & fluid as Bivol though?

Yeah Reid hit very hard and those long arms and broad shoulders of his definitely had a lot to do with that. I didn't even realize he had a 76'' reach

I'm not even offering an opinion on a Joe vs Beterbiev hypothetical match up. I'm just pointing out it's unfair to pit the past prime shot hands diminished punch resistance Joe against prime LHWs when he never fought at the weight in his prime.

But yeah, Beterbiev's power is different. He has ridiculously heavy hands and bludgeoning power

    No.

He is, however, a good athlete and a quality boxer with superior punching power.
