Thoughts ? I do find it weird they had Canelo above Bivol but now they have Bivol ahead of Canelo after a loss. Not that I'm saying Bivol shouldn't of been ahead of Canelo but I don't really understand why now they would have Bivol over Canelo after his 1st loss.

WTF ? They have BUM, Tank and Haney in top 10 ?

Beterbiev should be above Canelo, but not Bivol. Just because he beat Canelo, does not mean that has better names on his resume and has done more in boxing.

Maybe they're tired of Canelo taking on mediocre opposition. Canelo should have never been above Bivol in the first place.

And Bam need to steer clear of Nakatani. He will get his hype train derailed.

I find it kind of funny that neither Beterbiev or Bivol's P4P ranking changed much after the fight. It's the first time where neither fighter gained or lost anything after a fight.

Top 5 is correct both proved they're at the same level regardless of who you think won and both have beaten better competition then Canelo.

I feel like these P4P rankings is now all about "what have you done for boxing lately". Canelo beating the likes of Munguia and Berlanga put him above Bivol because he got far more attention for those fights despite losing to Bivol 2 years prior. I do think putting Beterbiev at #4 and Bivol at #5 is fair enough though. I guess Bivol's impressive performance and close loss where many believe that he should have won is what bumped him up to #5 over Canelo.

Boxing is still very much biased towards American & Mexican fighters despite most top fighters being non American these days.. because the west is still where the cash is at.. hence why Anglo sphere fighters are pushed more & getting easier paths.. its harder to promote a Beterbiev over a Fury or a Davis... the lists are usually always shite anyway.. I mean the overrated donkey Spence was on them for years & for what? Getting his ass whooped by Crawford and barely scraping by the likes of Porter lmao.. and having Haney anywhere near a p4p list is a joke .. the guy walks around as a LHW yet got schooled by a FW and starched by Garcia

We do realize that before Canelo fought Bivol, he was P4P #1. Since losing to Bivol, which was a weight class above his normal weight, he's been dominant yet now he finds himself at #6.

P4P is supposed to be about how you perform in the ring not what you've done for boxing. Just think of this, if he didn't take the risk to move up in weight to take on Bivol two years ago, he'd probably still be everyone's unanimous P4P #1 right now. It doesn't make any sense that losing a close decision to Bivol two years ago would result in him being this far down the P4P list 2 years later.

Not only has Canelo been dominant and impressive over the last two years, but he's fought more often than these other P4P contenders. Fighters ahead of Canelo in that P4P list have been outboxed for significant portions of the fights they've been in (Usyk against Fury, Beterbiev against Bivol, Crawford against Madrimov) and Inoue has been knocked down.

By any reasonable standard Canelo has performed consistently better than these guys recenctly and that's what P4P is supposed to be about. It's a riot having all these guys who've been struggling in recent fights ahead of Canelo while Canelo has been dominating who he's fought and has been fighting more often.

Canelos opposition isn't good enough any more.

He didn't defend against the best, it's no wonder his stock has decreased.

Golvokin, Ryder, Charlo, Munguia and Berlanga aren't a high enough standard.

The top 5 have all as a minim faced the best fighter in their weight class.

i dont think either performance puts either one ahead of canelo and bam. beterbiev was outboxed handily. a top 5 p4p doesnt get outboxed like that. bivols unwillingness, or inability to close the show in all the final rds, should also keep him outside the top 5.

Makes no sense to me. If Canelo got dropped down because he moved up to 175 and lost, Bivol should get dropped for losing to someone in his own weight class.

It's fair to put Bivol and Beterbiev above Canelo right now.

Doesn't matter if Bivol lost, (me and alot of others think he won anyway). But because it was close and they are both so good, they remain very good.
