Bivol beat a PRIME Canelo Alvarez. Let that sink In... Canelo was in a huge ego trip and big winning streak. And Bivol beat him In spectacular fashion. He didn't run around the ring. He came forward, pushed Canelo back and bullied him at times and had him hurt but stuck to his game plan. (Like Usyk did against Joshua) What an amazing feat and an amazing moment to witness that In our lifetime. Brilliant. So happy I got to see that.
Flew too close to the sun It's not even a loss to be ashamed of but the arrogance, bias and gifts towards Canelo has made it such. Getting on the ring ropes afterwards shows he still needs to get another slap. It's like if Usyk loses to Fury...doesn't really matter it was always a step too far but he is a humble man but no external forces benefitting him. There is no shame there, nobody will take anything away from him.
Would hurt much less if he didn't convince himself he is genuinely better that the likes of Golovkin and Lara.
Alvarez was high rated but not a great light heavyweight. He is also not a true great middleweight. A brilliant win for Bivol anyway.
Great two weeks for boxing with two cheats (Canelo and Valdez) who are also stablemates getting schooled by two superior clean boxers.
