Old school is correct , Bivol ihas good focus but I doubt he can achieve what you have set up for 12 rounds, not a canelo fan boy but even I have to admit his head, upper body control is superb... he has a long body upppercuts into his floating ribs & liver would seem to be a good idea for Bivol , could be difficult though as Bivol being the taller guy he would become vunerable to Canelo's own body attacks... if its not a fix then we have the recipe for a really good fight... I don't think Bivol is that special , but is definetly a cut abouve Plant then just above BJS...If Canelo can beat Beterbiev I will a believer if realistic score cards etc...

    I agree.

I dont see anything "special" from Bivol and the only reason I am erring towards him (hesitantly) is because he has a more refined version of what Kovalev brought against Canelo.

Bivol has to be perfect against Canelo and I dont see that.

Hyperbole aside, No, hometown favoritism and "buying and paying for your own judges" is really not the same thing.

They can't. Canelo is a pretty good ginger Mexican, and they can make him a star by appealing to both Mexicans and white people. Boxing is a tribal sport--its not right, but its how it is. They sell fighters by ethnicity, and Canelo checks two boxes.

Yeah I am thinking the same that Bivol will win either 8-4 or 7-5 and get jobbed and lose a majority decision.

I rewatched the Bivol-Smith bout. Bivol was masterful through that fight. The ONLY time Smith hurt Bivol was at the end of Round 10 when the bell rang and Bivol was too casual and dropped his guard and Smith nailed him with an overhand right. But, other than that moment, Bivol dominated the fight, moving in and out with ease. Smith has long reach at 74" but that didn't bother Bivol at all. Canelo's reach, by comparison, is 70 1/2". I'm not sure how Canelo plans to fight this bout. If he tries to fight inside Bivol will control the distance and move away. He has great foot movement. If he tries to fight from the outside Bivol will be very tough to hit. An interesting fact is Bivol's mother is Korean so he is half Korean.

Bivol is good at controlling distance and cautious with counters(Canelo special) and Canelo is blocking alot too it's when Bivol will open up
and attack him but he might get caught only one time by Canelo body punch and who know what happen next.I'm eager to see it im salivating
just to see the result, because it goes to the scorecard im sure.

Ring size will be an important factor but everyone knows chances are that even if Bivol does outbox Clenelo the later's judges are going to rob him blind and an awful lot of people are perfectly OK with them doing so too. The only way Bivol might possibly be able to prevent them from being able to do that is 1. If he knocks Clen out which ain't happening, or 2. literally wins every second of every round thus making it nigh on impossible for them to get away with it without creating a huge scandal..

Hoping Bivol lays a beating on Canelo. He has the skills to do it.

Bivol must take risk to win but might lose if he did'nt KO Canelo in the process,to lose on the cards.

The more information I get about Bivol the more I like him. Check out this article. Scroll down to the picture of his family. Cute wife, good-looking kids. A family man. You gotta love that.

Those waiting for undisputed super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez to face a legitimate challenge might finally get some satisfaction on May 7.

That’s when the Mexican star will face WBA light heavyweight titleholder Dmitry Bivol, an unbeaten, polished boxer who Alvarez insists is a legitimate threat to him.

Alvarez and Bivol on Wednesday kicked off the promotion for their pay-per-view showdown, which will take place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

“I like challenges, it makes me feel alive,” Alvarez said. “… I like a good challenge, and now I have a very good fighter in front of me, and I’m excited for this fight. Bivol is a really tough fighter, and it’s going to be a really good fight for Cinco de Mayo weekend with my people in Las Vegas, Mexican weekend.

“I’m really excited, and I’m going to prepare really well, because this fight is going to be really hard.”

That's what I think will be Bivols downfall here, he's got to hit Canelo hard enough to slow his attack and make him leery. Saunders couldn't and neither could Plant and Canelo just walked them down. Canelo is not Joe Smith , he has the skills to cut the ring off and make Bivol fight and unless Bivol can hurt him he'll be walked down too.
