He was weight drained etc. You realize Canelo weighed in at 152 a few fights prior to the Mayweather fight? That's why Canelo said he could do 152. Canelo's age is irrelevant because at the time he fought Mayweather, he was an 8 year pro, undefeated in 43 fights, had already faced top 10 opposition and a champion. Please, name 10 other pro fighters with a similar resume that were considered green. Should be easy given the long history of boxing.
