Bivol is good, but CLEARLY not on Loma/Usyk level

Who's to say the roided up Colombian would't stop Bivol in a similar fashion? Great Gvozdyk was KO'd, well Jack was KTFO, so what.

Well I've just watched the Chilemba fight. It was pretty much a schooling... What is the big who ha?? He outboxed him with relative ease. It went pretty much to script.. I'll bank that Bivol is the next best LHW!!! A tad Pillow fisted but a technically beautiful boxer, balanced, fluid, poised... Is a pleasure to watch him. He's only young & will get better too... Stevenson & Alvarez aren't beating him! Yh I predicted Kova to best Alvarez but I underestimated both Alvarez & Kovalevs current status. Alvarez hasn't looked spectacular lately & Kova seemed to be in a good place .. He's obviously a faded force. I also had Bivol beating Sergey too prior...

Roided? What evidence do you have that he was roided? Alvarez isn’t that good he is a top 10 guy but if Kovalev was who he used to before the Ward fights he probably would have beaten him.

I’m just saying Gvozdyk was dropped by a journeyman whereas Bivol hasn’t had such a thing happen to him. Is he better than Gvozdyk imo he is but if Gvozdyk beats Stevenson like I think he will he will be no.1 or no.2 in the division.

Chilemba is tough as nails and has an awkward style, he has NEVER been stopped in his whole career and would make a lot of fighters look average. Bivol outboxed Chilemba for 12 rounds and looked decent, i would not overrate the result in the end. It was a huge step up for Bivol and he handled it very well.

Kovalev just has a fragile mandible and poor stamina. Those weren't exactly earth shattering punches.

You're math is blowing my mind.

117-111 is 9-3. So out of a total of 12 rounds, he lost 1/4 of them, dummy.

Gvozdyk stopped Chilemba, Kovalev and Vlasov dropped him

You better should stop looking at some records and start watching the fights. Chilemba retired vs Gvozdyk due to a broken hand ffs. He wasn't "stopped".

Bivol looked like an 8-round fighter to me. Really a good 4-round fighter and then he just bounced around and threw jabs and avoided a fight the rest of the way.

It wasn’t that he didn’t easily win, it’s that he showed no imagination nor initiative to try something different once his initial blitz didn’t result in a KO. After that he was just clock-watching.

    Bivoring.

Chilemba was robbed against Bellew over in the UK

Many feel he beat an undefeated Alvarez as well, whom he did much better against than he did against Bivol even though he was facing Alvarez in Canada

Chilemba gave an undefeated Kovalev a really hard fight over in Russia

He was robbed against an undefeated Oosthuizen too from what I hear over in South Africa

He beat an undefeated Maxim ''The Baddest Man on the Planet'' Vlasov albeit it was razor-close

He also beat an undefeated Lepikhin

    Beat Caparello in Australia

He's a very tough, talented and tricky guy who has a very awkward style and is difficult to nail clean with any regularity and he's a certified road warrior too. The only fighter to handle him more impressively than Bivol is Gvozdyk, everyone else, including Kovalev, the man who beat Kovalev last night, and Bellew he's caused nightmares, whereas Bivol beat him with much less difficulty.

Yes he slowed down in the second half of the fight, but I think that's because he came out of the blocks fast and was putting more weight in his shots early because he wanted to make a statement by stopping Chilemba. Unlike Kovalev, he has a very good engine and it's not like he was blowing out of his ass after going into the 12th against Barrera or the full 12 round distance against Valera. Bivol did fine against Chilemba and it was a great learning fight for him against an opponent with a style he's never faced before as a pro.

Civil Bivol coasted. It was easy for him.. What are some of these people on about? People forget he has 14 fights! It was poetic & ballet like, dancing in & out hitting Chilemba at will.. He's a Eurasian Picasso! Lol

Chilembas a great 'gauge' fighter sort of like say a Martin Murray was for MWs..

If Bivol is overrated for styling on the kid for 12 rounds then what is Alvarez who barely even beat him & probably got out landed by him??

Sorry mate I missed this post. I mistakenly thought it was a like and not a quote, which is a mistake I often make on here (I just crossed the 12,000 mark last night lol).

    Agreed.

Yeah I and many others thought Chilemba beat Alvarez and the former is a tough nights work for anyone, as he has proved time and time again, often in his opponent's backyards where the deck is stacked against him.

    lol at the Eurasian Picasso

You have to understand that Bivol isn’t this 30 year old man that had hundreds of amateur fights who barely has 10 professional fights. He’s young and learning on the job not being started at the 50 meter mark in a 100 meter race like some of these other smoke and mirror magicians people are overhyping today.

Has there ever been a Korean boxer as good as Bivol before?
