If true then why did the US Government permit him to fight, knowing he was not going to get paid due to his nationality? I am sure the US Government made plenty of tax dollars from the fight, and owners and employees of venue and other outlets made plenty of money from it too. Politically/diplomatically withholding the purse just plays into Putins narrative of the west being the bad guys. The man earned it, the man deserves paying, no ifs buts or maybes, promoters must find a way for Bivol to get his money.
This is just as criminal & terrorist to try to take athletes' money away as what Putin may be doing. Fighters get hit in the face for a living and train their asses off for fights, not to mention risk their lives against the best punchers. Bivol has expenses here in the US, trainers, hotels, cars, food, etc. All this helps the US economy. These pieces if **** career politicians never create anything, no businesses, no value, no income for local businesses. All they know how to do is tax, take, mandate, ban, bully. What in the hell does stealing and banning athletes do for deterring Russia other that run hard working people's livelihoods.
Bivol was the defending champion while Canelo was the challenger and yet Canelo was treated like as if he was the champion. Bivol walked into the ring first and they didn't even play his National Anthem, which I guess has more to do with the current situation.
PeyDey… Robbed him anyway. Should’ve never allowed him to compete to begin with, let a man go into debt to prepare for this fight & risk his life in the ring during the fight. absolutely criminal.
They also said he was fighting out of California. Let's also not forget how poorly he was treated during the fight... by the judges.
Bivol needs to kneel before Zelensky and rennounce his pro Putin ways before commiting seppuku. The money will be sent to his family.
I don't hate Canelo at all. Not a huge fan but I respect him as a fighter. I just can't get behind the idea that just because you're a bigger attraction you have to call all the shots even as a challenger. The champion is still the champion and should be treated like one. Lots of people overlooked and underestimated Bivol as a fighter and only saw him as just the next Canelo victim.
Yes, it is good he got the decision, but that isn't all that matters. Those scorecards really shined a light on just how unfairly bivol was treated. Nobody in their right mind scored the fight anywhere near as close as those judges did.
