Ring currently has Beterbiev at 5 and Bivol at 6 - and most people, myself included have Beterbiev as the favourite for their June 1 dust up.

The prevailing thought here is that Bivol doesn't have enough to keep Beterbiev off him and will eventually succumb - as all others who have gone before have - to Arturs bludgeoning power and underrated skills. To have any chance of a victory, it is perceived that Bivol really can't afford to make any mistakes and will have to execute a flawless gameplan, flawlessly.

I think the last big P4P vs P4P win was Bud vs Spence which pushed him on to the top of most lists.

IMO, if Bivol manages to defeat Beterbiev, he deserves to be at least top 3, possibly even top.

    Thoughts?

With Bivol it's hard to say how many gears he has to go through, and how much heart etc he has because he has hardly been pushed and has almost looked on cruise control in many of his fights, where he establishes ring IQ, distance and footwork dominance early in the fight, and very rarely has to adapt.

But Beterbiev is a beast and to stand any chance of victory it would seem like Bivol is going to have to push himself to his absolute ceiling in all departments to emerge the victor - and that is a tall order, as Arturs skills are elite also - he is not just a crude power-only slugger by any stretch.

And yes, I'm starting to get really excited for this fight, most anticipated this year!

I think it will be a one sided fight in favour of Bivol. Bivol will be Beterbiev's most difficult test. Canelo was Bivol's hardest challenge and he made it look easy against a living legend.

Beterbiev has a glass jaw but Bivol doesn't have a strong punch, Beterbiev can always have a lucky punch but technically it will be a beat down.

If Bivol wins he should be definetly Top 5.

Bivol doesn't have the power to keep Beterbiev honest

    You´d be surprised.
Bivol is the worst finisher in the sport, but I have never seen anyone not be bothered by his power.

Interesting, that's the first prediction i've seen saying one-sided for Bivol! I think that is underrating Betrebiev a lot here and don't think this will be one-sided for either guy - I can see Bivol frustrating Artur a lot early, but Beterbiev is great at cutting off the ring and getting into mid-range which will be very tough for Bivol to manage for 12 rounds

    Clear number 4 for me.

The big 3 can't be compared with yet.

I could see arguments anywhere between 1 and 4. The only aggravating factor I can think of is that it's all been at a single weight, and even then light heavy to cruiser is one of the biggest boundaries in the sport.

I'd probably consider him the best boxer in the world if he won convincingly to be honest. Beterbiev is a stronger win than Joshua/Briedis, Spence or Fulton/Tapales/Donaire.

Beterbiev has been the single most dominant force in the sport of boxing over the last half decade. No fighter in the sport has had such a vice like grip on his division. He rules LHW with an iron fist. It has been reminiscent of Carlos Monzon at 160 pounds. In the sense that he's open for business and established himself as a long time overpowering force. Anybody can get it. And anybody who enters the ring gets violently destroyed.

Easier to Google it than to log on to a website and ask a forum user.

Pretty sure it was a rhetorical question.

You don’t need to have 1 punch KO power to keep someone honest, Bivol is too quick on his feet and his defence is too good for what Beterbiev bring, you can’t say that about Beterbiev who gets hit a lot.

If he beats Beterbiev, he would have 3 very big wins.

    1 win against the former P4P #1.

1 win against a current cruiser world champion.

1 win against the most destructive fighter in boxing and a top 5 P4P fighter.

I think he makes a very strong case to be in the top 3.
