Bivol isn't Smith, he'd toy with and beat up Smith too. This is a genuine 50/50 fight, I'm having trouble deciding who's going to win as I can see a fight scenario playing out for both where they come out victorious. This fight unlike so many big fights will likely be very competitive.
Bivol isn't invincible and often gets tagged. And to tell the truth, I don't think he's more durable than Yarde or Browne. No matter how much he's skilled, he won't endure Beterbiev's bone crushing power. Beterbiev by vicious KO in round 10. If I were Bivol, I would avoid Beterbiev and challenge Canelo at 168 instead.
My concern is Beterbiev doesnt have to load up and nail him clean like canelo tried to do. He can just throw in his general area, body chest top of the head, against his guard, in the clinch. And it WILL have an effect and slow him down. And if Bivol slows down he will still have to make it out of the rest of the fight without getting dropped, dominated to win a decision. Beterbiev also wont stand there and take it on the high guard, he has much smarter and quicker feet than canelo. Hell step back and immediately reset his attack if Bivol bounces at him. Unlike canelo who got pushed back in a straight line and slowly had to creep back in range due to his slow feet and short reach.
Why so? What's wrong with the best fighting the best. I really like Bivol, but I want to see what his ceiling is, and we are only going to see all he is made of by seeing him take the Beterbiev challenge. If Bivol is as elite as me and many others think - then maybe he can be the first to take Artur the distance, which even in defeat would be a hell of an achievement; though one would think if it goes to the cards Bivol would likely be the favourite to win on points. Bivol would have to execute a near-perfect gameplan of the Sweet Science to come away with a victory, who wouldn't want to see that clash?
Good post. Gvozdyk is as good a boxer as Bivol IMHO and possesses more power. He couldn't keep Beterbiev off him, so I have grave doubts that Bivol can keep him at bay. Bivol is a pure boxer and may be able to win some early rounds, but I predict that once the accumulation of Beterbiev's punches starts to slow Bivol down, he will start to get caught with the big power shots with insufficiently power to dissuade a relentless assault. That being said, if he can outbox Beterbiev for 12 rounds, that will be an amazing feat. That is Bivol's only path to victory.
Because I'm afraid that Bivol who is my favorite boxer is gonna be taken out. I'm not sure whether he can take Beterbiev's clean punches or not. If he can then he'll have a chance to beat him by decisions but if he can't then he'll get K.O.'d like Smith.
So a thread was opened in which Bivol is suggested not to fight with Beterbiev, and if he really does not fight with him, then he will be called a coward, Bivol is better than Smith and Yarde, if the mentioned two dare to fight, then Bivol will especially dare , if there is a fight, I will say Bivol by UD...
Bivol may lose to Beterbiev but he sure as h.ll isn't afraid of him. Bivol is just as tough in his own way as Beter.
To beat Bert you need to be tough in body and mind Berterbiev gave usyk hell for leather he will do the same to bivil.
Beterbiev v Bivol simply has to happen and as mentioned Bivol has already signed his part of the contract. The pair of them are the top two in the division and head and shoulders above the rest. However for me Beterbiev has always showed more ambition by seeking out the other Champions of the division, Bivol on the other hand has never fought a Champion and has simply won one belt and sat back happy to defend it,whilst only fighting one mandatory since becoming Champion in 2017. Beterbiev on the other hand has now had 4 mandatory defences since 2017. Bivol is a silky smooth boxer but for me lacks the power to deal with Beterbiev,Beterbiev more than likely could well be behind on points but walks Bivol down for a stoppage win .
