Both Atlas & Paulie mention that great atmosphere in Ingerland Boxing in the first 9 mins of discussion here & how that makes for great fights

I think after the deluge of criticism Smith has gotten since his performances he got against Ryder and Canelo, he has something to prove. He knows he has a chance if he lets his hands go, so I think he's going to try to turn it into a guns blazing kill or be killed firefight, like his wins over Fielding and Hadillah. If he comes out on the losing end, I doubt he'll care that much.

Wait....does this mean that the WBC are no longer protesting this fight? The same for Bob Arum too?

Did they smell that Saudi money and give in?

I mean Beterbiev might do Smith serious harm, because Smith is tough. However Smith might want to consider dropping down a level or a have a break, he might get money from a Buatsi or Yarde fight. He peaked when he beat Groves, but he had some dodgy performances at SMW, which by far his best win. Ryder absolutely mauled him, Canelo had him running scared. He also looked crap against Rebrasse, and Holzken. I really cant make a case for Smith in this fight.
    I wish i could.

Artur gonna incur the wrath of Clenelo's fans with that comment. He didn't actually say that at all though. It's clickbait

Beterbiev will turn 39 just 10 days after the Smith fight

He must be ranked just outside the P4P top 10 now. The winner of Beterbiev vs Bivol if Beterbiev beats Smith that is and it gets made later n the year will have a case for #1?

The oldest fighter ranked in the P4P top 10 is Usyk who turns 38 a few days before Beterbiev vs Smith

The second oldest is Crawford who turned 36 in September

Do you think Crawford will still be ranked in the P4P top 10 an still be undefeated in three years if he's still active? I'd be surprised. One things for sure nobody will be arguing he's in his prime at Artur's age

Usyk might still be ranked in the top 10 because it's only a year away

It's not too often we see fighters pushing 40 ranked in the P4P top 10. There's a reason why that is

ROFLMAO Does anyone think for one second Canelo would ever fight Beterbiev ??? Heck he made his biggest boo boo in taking on Dmitry Bivol & got a harsh lesson in the noble art. He should have rematched Bivol at 168 for all the 168 trinkets he really stole. But there again he proved he lacks the necessaries even with the added Vegas "help" Bivol really exposed Canelo

Saying hes not the best boxer and wont go upto heavyweight to fight Uysk. Humility.
Weight jumping and losing is overated nowadays.
But being the man, the King in one division isnt applauded enough. Especially when said division has good fighters in it.

Yes. He's too small for HW anyway especially given his age and all the wear and on his body. You don't move up two divisions at 39 y/o when there is a 25lb gap between the next division and your one

 He might fight a 39 y/o version of him if he sees enough decline in him. He'll be quick to fight Smith if he beats Beterbiev though.

But as for going anywhere near a prime Beterbiev? Not in a million years. That would be a kamikaze mission lol

You beat me too it Serge as i just watched that video a few hours ago, clearly Artur has said like on many occasions that he does not follow the sport closely & that was that, he didn't even want to fight Canelo for a payday over Bivol unlike so many others that would.

Wouldn't blame most Boxers to put their hands up for a duel with Prime Beterbiev.

I don't think people understand the concept of ducking. You don't have to duck them forever, just long enough for the edge to come off them. Bivol still ducked Beterbiev by the looks of it.
    Beterbiev is now 40.
It's just like AJ wanting to fight Wilder when Wilder was nearing 39.
It's just like Saunders openly ducking Golovkin for years, then sending the contract when he thought Golovkin had slowed down enough.

I think Smith and Beterbiev can both take Bivol's shots and KO him in return. But we'll see.
