Canelo has said publically he wont be fighting any Mexican Fighters in future. Do you know why ?????
Remember when he made that ludicrous statement after his fight with Khan ? " Bring on GGG I'll fight him now put my gloves back on us Mexican fighters FIGHT!! we don't mess around" Remember what happened when he was called on that statement & ordered to fight GGG ? He wimped out like a coward.
Like my good friend in the gym said at the time " Canelo is right Mexican fighters do FIGHT!!!!! they don't duck anyone but after he chickened out he proved he is NOT really a true Mexican so they disowned him & named him El Pollo Rojo " ROFL Canelo is all mouth & little else

But Canelo challenged Bivol ran his mouth came unstuck got his ass beat by the better fighter Then the red headed fraud claims he had a bad camp, he was injured & needed surgery, what a wimp. Bivol doesn't need Ginger but Ginger needs him because Dmitry Bivol totally OWNED Ginger ,even his "friendly " judges couldn't give him a win he did not deserve. Does us all a favour Ginger Do a Floyd & RETIRE !!!!!!!!!

    This.

SRL was a very big A-side in that bout and compelled Lalonde to agree to that ridiculous demand.

As it played out, Ray beat a weight-drained LHW for TWO belts, and therefore, I put little stock in either one.

I see Leonard as, at best, a three division champ...if you allow that he beat Hagler.

I don't accord him any significance at 168 or 175.

Bivol needs to be careful if he drops to 168. He should remember Ward-Dawson.

At 175, there is NOTHING Canelo can do to beat Bivol.

So the real question is what does any of that have to do with, or in regards to Canelos huge status chasm over Bivol? You guys pine so hard for guys to lose that you get it twisted and believe they lose their status to their conqueror like a belt lol. That only happens when the challenger is box office big himself. Bivol is decidedly not.

How brave of Bivol to move down to challenge a midget he already proved he was too much for

Nowhere did I say that Bivol has to, only what I think he should do. Other champions have put their belts on the line at a lower weight throughout the sports history, so it's not like I'm suggesting something that hasn't happened before. It happened recently with Gervonta Davis vs Leo Santa Cruz. I don't think Canelo can beat Bivol at either weight but if by some chance he did & Bivol's belt was on the line at 168, Canelo could potentially fight for undisputed against Beterbiev. If Bivol's belt isn't on the line & he somehow loses, would it not diminish an undisputed fight between Beterbiev & Bivol? As to the weight, if a rematch does happen I'd prefer to see Canelo fight Bivol again at 175. Just my opinions & musings

    Fair enough view point.

However, I don't like the idea of a champion having to put his title on the line at a weight well below the weight limit for that division.

Canelo has done this before with the MW title when he was waiting for Golovkin to age... MW title fights at 155.

If he was to defeat Bivol at 168, that would be a tainted victory as far as 175 is concerned.

See I'm a bit of a traditionalist & don't mind fighters holding & defending multiple titles in the same fight. Fights like Canzoneri vs Berg , Ross vs Canzoneri & Armstrong vs Feldman for example. Obviously it was a different era with less belts but I think fighters today should be given the same opportunity if it presents itself. What Canelo has done previously is of topic, as my point is about defending multiple belts in the same fight. I think it would be a really good thing for Bivol's legacy if he chose to put his title on the line as well if a rematch occurs at 168. Thanks for the rational discussion, it isn't common these days. You & I don't have to agree with each others opinions but I am able to entertain your thoughts without having to accept them

Right!! I forgot about that little bit of context for him dumping the WBC belt instead of fighting GGG  An even worse look on Clenelo.
