He doesnt look that durable? Gvozdyk was a massive puncher at 175lbs and landed bomb after bomb on Beterbiev and AB still kept coming forward. He didnt even flinch. The same Gvozdyk put Adonis Stevenson in a coma, remember? Or shall we pretend that never happened? Also, when Callum landed on Beterbiev, Beterbiev shook it off almost immediately and finished the round strong. Rewatch the fight. The man has a solid chin. Give him his props.
You see an "amateur" The rest of us see a guy who is a highly decorated amateur who has competed at the very highest level against the best names out there. Still, keep believing he is sh*t and see what he does to your favourite 175lbs fighters.....
Natural 168 Bivol who supposedly ''can't punch'' hurt the much bigger and heavier Smith who's a very big 175 pounder and made his knees dip. I like Smith and he does hit hard but Beterbiev is in a completely different class and he wouldn't just break that fragile jawbone of Smith's for a third time he'd absolutely shatter it and KHFTO
The thing is they're wasting their careers by crossing their fingers hoping to be picked, when in the old days, and how few but prideful fighters get their status is by fighting the best and MAKING A NAME for themselves and making them more appealing.
Canelo and Oscar, your two faves, come to boxing with the red carpet already laid out nitwit. They both had big promoters w/ pull in cable boxing. You're so freakin blind you don't get that idea that cash cows do NOT have to work for certain fights or title shots. Now that said, BOTh had done well with what they got. But don't act like these two fighters had to work their ways up like others had to. Hell...you're the simpleminded and gullible type to believe some rich brat who inherited money WORKED HARD for it. You are the most unaware poster to have stayed here for this long. And we all know you are a serial liar...
At least you've finally come to your senses. Not that you'll hold on to them very long. Yes, cash cows do NOT have to work like non-cash cow fighters. If those are words of wisdom to you, you're even more a fanboy then you even let on!
Oh no ASSOL, you are right. Cash cows fighters have to go through all the same things regular unknowns do. Is that what you believe moron??
I’m lost Didn’t Big Red drop the 175 strap/belt? Canelo jumped to 175 took the easiest guy , which still deserves 100 percent credit for doing so IMO, and made it clear he’s not a LHW. Anyways if they fight @ 175 then it’s a draw on the cards but at 168 it’s Canelo by UD with some more cooking
yeah that is true. But that was long ago. ... Pre 90s 90s & up Im thinking : Pacquiao, Mosley, Morales, Marquez, Hopkins, Trinidad, Cotto, Barrera, De La Hoya, José Luis Castillo, James Toney, Holyfield, Chavez Sr., possibly Roy Jones Jr & to a certain extent Mayweather (early on “pretty boy”) We’re all throwbacks & funny thing is De la Hoya was the cash cow at the time similar to canelo these days. it is a testament to any cash cow who tests their limits willing to make big fights including moving up & down in weight. Against quality opposition. I’m struggling to think of fighters who weren’t cash cows who fought high quality opposition along with mandatories till they became a cash cow themselves other then Pacquiao, Sugar Shane Mosley & “Pretty Boy” Floyd Mayweather (although he didn’t become a cash cow till after de la Hoya) I’m sure I failed to mention several Help me out IsaL. All that said still think Canelo vs Bivol @ 168lbs will be a good scrap.
Old days were back in the 70s-90s after that we had Floyd cherry picking and doing his last real fight with Bert-Toe and an MMA fighter
He did but Bivol is lobbying for the Big Red $weep $teaks & is willing to drop down to 168lbs to get the opportunity.
