Pointless fight. Munguia should be exploring the GGG fight, he has zero chance of beating Bivol. If this happens Bivol officialy becomes the Mexucutioner!

Light heavyweights don't enter the ring in the 170s so how does that make him a light heavyweight?

They did for about 90+ percent of the division's history.

Super Welterweights certainly didn't enter the ring in the 170s for 90+ percent of that division's history.

Bivol was even willing to come in at catchweight of 171 (which is basically what Munguai weighed for Sadam Ali) or put in a rehydration clause against Canelo and it was declined.

God forbid someone actually weighs more than Munguia for one fight.

So wrong..... Munguia, after his proper training, can make 160 and look fresh and cut. Bivol does that at 175.

Can Bivol weigh in at 160 and look as effective as Mungia does?? Can Mungia simply not train as much to lose weight and look as fit as Bivol at 175? no....

How it worked in the past is completely irrelevant.

Come on Hearn, just let Bivol fight Beterbiev already.

History doesn't matter....this is today's boxing you have to look at. What guys weighed in at and entered the ring at 3 decades ago means jack.

When Oscar fought at 154, he would easily put on at least 10 plus pounds come fight night. Yet when he fought Sturm just 6 pounds north, looked flabby and soft.

It's a little difficult to cry tears for a guy who was weighing 170 for super welterweight fights when you're someone who remembers fighters like Michael Spinks weighing 170 on the day he made a light heavyweight title defense.

If Munguia was big enough as far back as five years ago to fight the likes of Michael Spinks, Archie Moore, Bob Foster, Matthew Saad Muhamamd, Marvin Johnson, Victor Galindez, and Virgil Hill in their heydays, he's big enough.

I hope Bivol beats the hell out of him.

Wait, so Munguia gets flak for years for not fighting anybody, and now he’s getting flak for taking on the guy who just had a great year beating Canelo and Zurdo? Where’s all the “he’s chasing greatness” guys at?

To be fair Bivol has already beaten pretty much every top fighter at the weight apart from Beterbiev. He has wins over Jean Pascal, Canelo Alvarez, Joe Smith Jr, Gilberto Ramirez, Umar Salamov, Craig Richards, Isaac Chilemba and Sullivan Barrea. He was supposed to fight Joshua Buatsi but Buatsi pulled out. Who else could he have fought on that date at 175 ?

When you are 6', weighing 170 is nothing.

The old history and their weights have ****all to do with boxing today

These fighters aren't fighting guys from the past. They are fighting other fighters who are dehydrating just like him. How is it fair to call Munguia a Lightheavy for coming in 170 when actual lightheavies are coming in close to 190.
