True, but Ward wasn't the best LW neither. I think its a very competitive chess match that could go both ways. It could turn out to be a pretty boring fight too
They do share a common opponent A lighter 12-0 Bivol KO'd Sullivan Barrera in the 12th round on the road A 28-0 same weight Dre was taken the distance by Barrera in Oakland Some fans like to cite stuff like that but they don't like it when you throw it back at them This content is protected
Why do y'all think Andre Ward retired? He didn't want the smoke from the New Class of Eastern Bloc Killers — Beterbiev, Bivol, Gzvodyk... Just like Floyd retired to swerve Crawford, Spence, and Thurman.
Floyd was already way past his prime in his last real fight against Pacquiao. I don’t count the Berto and McGregor fights as real fights. Floyd had zero reasons to stick around. He accomplished everything he wanted. Multiple title defenses, defeated the two fan favorites(Pacquiao and Canelo), etc.
Ward got knocked down and outboxed by Kovalev. Bivol has an excellent shot at beating a fighter like Ward.
Triangle theories don't work. Reality is Ward gets inside, uses his superior technical inside fighting ability and superior physical strength and wins an ugly 8-4 decision. You know it and I know it. He takes the fight to phone booth and where Bivol isn't comfortable and wins the bout.
