Again, I'm not checking who you recognise and who you don't.

The man Bivol beat was ranked by nearly everyone as P4P number 1, hence my statement.

    If you disagree that's fine.

But obviously when I refer to P4P I don't refer to your personal list.

If you want to recognize lists published in bad faith so be it.

Great as long as Bivol isn't made to fight in Vegas !!! If that fight with Bivol had been in Vegas they wouldn't have let Canelo lose. Heck even as it was those 3 judges nearly gifted Canelo a draw lol In reality Bivol kicked Canelo's ass just like GGG did TWICE!!!!!1

Just don't fight him in Vegas Bivol & you'll likely get it all

I don't care about your faith. Or your list.

I don't even know of any list that had Usyk number 1.

    Stop downplaying what Bivol achieved.

I can't see Canelo risking it. I think Bivol can get down to 168 as he's not that big at Light Heavy.
The problem for Canelo is that he would have to fight Bivol again in order to get a belt at 175 unless that strategy has been ditched.
Although some would depend on the other LH fight with Beterbiev v Smith Jr. however both of those punch pretty hard so that is far from an easy nights work.

Nah, from both fighters' pov, a rematch at 168 is much more significant than what you suggest.
It's high risk high reward for both (probably higher risk for Canelo).

If you're struggling to impose physically against Bivol, who is the smallest of the champs at LHW, Smith Jr and Beterbiev are nightmares.

I think this ends the dream of 175.

I just don't know where his marquee fights come from now.

I agree with you however it kind of depends on Canelo's mindset and whether he believes he won the fight at the weekend.
We know top boxers have that high level self belief that sometimes veers into delusion. so taking that into account he might still fancy his chances.. If he fights Beterbiev within the next two years I think he might get stopped. yeah he's shown a good chin but there's limits and the hardest hitters at 175 hurt him badly imo. I suppose another fight with GGG would be on the cards after that it's hard pickings unless he takes on some of the young guns at 168.

If I'm Bivol the #1 fight I want is Canelo at 168. Bivol's a small LHW who doesn't walk around much heavier if at all heavier than Canelo. Plant, Callum Smith, Benavidez are all probably bigger than Bivol. If Bivol has a good nutritionist he should be able to make the cut without too much problem.

And the risk/reward is so good for him. If he wins he's gone to Canelo's division and beaten the former P4P #1 at his own weight and will become undisputed. He can go back up after that to 175 and look to become undisputed in two divisions by fighting the winner of Beterbiev/Smith(though don't get me wrong Beterbiev is a way more dangerous fight). He'll legit make Canelo a laughingstock and Canelo will probably have to go back to 160(can Canelo even make 160 anymore?)

If he loses, oh well blame the weight drain and go back up to 175 where he still has his belt and continue defending his title. He can still try to make the undisputed fight in 175.

This is a great idea, I like this fight a lot more than a rerun at 175.

I wouldn't say it's that bad. He's got Charlo, Andrade, and GGG to start with. These would be career defining fights for anyone else. Then the young guns like you mentioned Benavidez, Morrell, and (if they keep the hype train on the tracks) Berlanga. I'm sure Munguia would jump at the chance to fight Canelo.

This is a few years worth of work and we haven't even gotten into the Eastern Europeans, Gongora, Ryder, or Rosado who are all capable of navigating their way to a mandatory spot or serving as a keep-busy opponent.

If they do the fight at 168 they would probably make it for Bivol's belt too, since 168 is less than 175. Bivol has the WBA belt and they've done it before.
