E-Hearn explains why they are not fighting David ''Duck Sauce'' Benavidez next here Timestamped This content is protected In E-Hearn's words, they are honouring their contract with Turki and standing by their word after all the opportunities he has given Bivol and how he went above and beyond to secure the rematch with Beterbievfor him after the first fight so quickly and when they signed for the rematch they gave Turki the right to the rubber match. We all know what that fat toad Mauricio is doing here and, again, David ''Duck Sauce'' Benavidez pulled the duck at the 1st hurdle when he refused to fight Bivol in Saudi He said, even though you are the undisputed champ, Mr Bivol (three-belt unified champ now) The King of 175 The undisputed #1 in the division which no one could even begin to contest A serial road warrior who has fought on the road at the world level and in your opponent's backyard many times Are a small/smallish LHW who has forged a career fighting bigger or much bigger men on the road And I am a leprechaun-slaying massive weight bully challenger and mere lowly peasant who weighs at least 12lbs more than you despite me being a career 168 who has only recently moved up to 175 and you are a career 175 And I has never fought outside of North America and am in no position to dictate terms to you whatsoever I refuse to fight your Russian/Korean/Moldovian/Kyrgyzstan ass in neutral Saudi And I want you to bring all your belts to the US to fight me in my backyard/home country where the deck will be heavily stacked in my favour and we stack the deck with a home ref and three home judges and have a long and consistent history of robbing fighters from your region of the world
I think the WBC have drawn a line in the sand and don`t want any of their champs fight Turki backed fighters because of the promised Saudi TKO league that`s coming, Turki wants to put the ring mag belt over the other belts.
Personally, I would have loved to see Beterbiev-Benavidez in an eliminator to face Bivol. My nr 2 option would have been Bivol-Benavidez with the winner to face Beterbiev. I'm not a fan of a back-to-back trilogy, and Benavidez is a good fighter who makes for good fights so I want him in the mix as much as possible. With that said, you can't slam a rubber too much when it comes off two very good, competitive fights between the two fighters who have been the best in the division for over five years. And Benavidez is still young and will get his chance. Irks me that we're probably going to miss out on him vs Beterbiev, though. Would have loved that fight.
Does the contract Hearn mentions demand the 3rd fight by a specific time and date? Does it really forbid Bivol fighting a mando first? Some more details would be nice. I am glad he confirmed the 8m offer from PBC was real though. PS. Strange how there was no mention of the 3rd fight being contracted until now, when it was apparently made 4 months ago when they signed the rematch. Odd.
Because the winner of the 2nd fight keeps the belt without a third one so 1-1 isn't neutral. From a fan standpoint I don't want to see it. But once you make fight 2 you're basically agreeing to fight 3 if the loser wins. Beterbiev gave Bivol his shot when he could have taken some fights in between and maybe Bivol would have lost. Not doing the same is unfair.
David ''Duck Sauce'' Benavidez has the body of a CW and he has forged a career weight bullying career 154 pounder leprechauns and 160 pounders at SMW and 175 pounders at LHW and the testicles of a FW (Fly not feather). I've honestly literally never seen a man his size with testicles that tiny. He's not even the #2 in the division and yet he's trying to dictate terms to the #1 and three-bely unified champ and flat-out refused to fight said #1 and the King of the division on neutral sand despite being way bigger than him I think I need to check the definition of the word monster in my dictionary because I think I must've been mistaken about its meaning for most of my life
WBC stands to make 240k out of that 8 million on sanctioning fees. No wonder they’re pushing for that fight instead of 3% of a 2 million purse.
Bivol is not getting paid $2.7 million, Brother Olu. Why do you think all these fighters want to fight in Saudi? Because they're getting paid peanuts or relative peanuts?
E-Hearn is 100% right the way Mauricio has handled this whole thing has been bizarre culminating with him revealing the offer which was made to Bivol. That's not his place to do so as the head of one of the sanctioning orgs. it smells distinctly fishy to me E-Hearn also says the offer is ''nowhere near'' what Bivol is going to earn for the Beterbiev fight This content is protected Anyone who has accused Bivol of ducking Benavidez for honouring his contract and doing the right thing but who simultaneously stood silent re. team Benavidez ducking fighting the then undisputed champ, undisputed #1 in the division, and the P4P #4 ranked fighter in the world on neutral sand and trying to dictate terms to Bivol when they are in no position to should do a thorough search for their integrity because either they never had any to begin with or they lost what little of it they did have somewhere along the way
Did not sound right to me hence me putting it up. I don’t have visibility of the purses for the trilogy match though.
I don’t think anybody thinks either fighter is ducking the other. Just choices have to be made. I believe they will fight next year with undisputed on the line again.
