Doesn´t mean you get to make up your own arbitrary rules to fit your preferences. It´s not really effective aggression when you can´t tell who won the round, now is it? And hell, some fights just are a nightmare to score. It happens. Go with your gut in that case or give out 10-10 rounds. Not wanting to do so is modern boxing BS anyways.
You win by chasing your opponent and landing on his gloves more than they did then? Cause all the clean punches were landed by Bivol.
I guess thats the point. If there is not much in it I go by my gut I favour the more agressive guy pushing the fight then. Same with dlh vs pea for example. They throw more, do more damage (despite it landing on the gloves it also busts up his face) and has the other guy running bsckwards with ear muffs on. It feels unfair to score it for the guy running unless he is clearly landing the better punches like Floyd used to do in most rounds.
Let's calm down and watch it again after a day. BUT There is no way someone won by many rounds, especially a guy who lost all the championship rounds
Many of the rounds Bivol was just running and trying to steal it with a rare flurry here or there, was very frustrating to watch. He tired himself out from all the running and lost the last three rounds.
Why is it unfair? The objective is to land the better punches and the one who does so wins the round, no matter how they do it.
I agree with that. I just disagree that is what happened in those close rounds in this fight. It feels like the old hsgler vs srl debate that always comes up though.
You mean many of the rounds Bivol consistently scored clean shots and Beterbiev landed precisely nothing for 2 minutes and 50 seconds while you seethed in frustration - followed by Beterbiev taking over the final 10 seconds and you scoring the round for him. Its true Bivol got tired from all the movement, but he moved when Artur tried to get to the inside and set up shop again at his preferred distance well within punching range of both fighters, as he always does. To call what Bivol does running is absurd - the guy is a high volume pressure fighter who is always within hittable range; if you try to get inside then he moves - back to that range.
